Russia has a significant reserve for scaling up the deployment of the new "Dan-T" small-sized missiles. Practically nothing needs to be done to achieve this. The predecessor, the "Dan-M," had its deployment scheme with helicopters tested as early as 2013. Specifically, two Mi-8MT helicopters were modified to carry two unmanned targets on external pylons, and later, footage emerged of the "Dan-M" being launched directly from an Mi-8. The widespread availability of the potential launch platform allows for the missiles to be deployed almost around the clock. The Mi-8/17 is the most common type of helicopter in the Russian army aviation fleet. Air launch partially alleviates some of the limitations of ground launch. The aircraft begins its independent flight at altitude and with the initial speed of the carrier, which allows for fuel savings and potentially extends the effective range.
