I attended an AI learning event last week and this question was the top one that surfaced for me:
If AI increasingly makes execution faster and easier, what actually becomes more valuable?
There is a constant pressure to keep up and figure out how not to become irrelevant.
But the people who thrive won’t simply be the ones who knows the most tools.
Sharing my 3 biggest takeaways:
1️⃣ How we think may matter more as execution gets easier. The panel shared a very useful 5Cs framework which I like: curiosity, curation, communication, critical thinking and common sense.
2️⃣ What we amplify matters. AI can amplify our expertise and creativity, but it can just as easily amplify our confusion, avoidance and busyness.
3️⃣ Where we're going still matters. AI can accelerate our pace, but it can't decide our destination. Moving faster means very little if you’re heading the wrong direction.
Wrote a longer reflection on my site - happy start of week all! 💪🏻
| 2 | When you know your why, and you know why it matters to you, that why is your buy-in.
The thing that keeps you motivated to feel the discomfort fully instead of avoiding it, instead of reaching for the coping behaviors, instead of hitting snooze.
What is the alternative?
It is waking up one, two, ten years from now, still not having run the race you said mattered so much to you.
When you are clear on your why and your goal, you become far more willing to keep doing the work — to feel what needs to be felt, knowing that on the other side of it, you’ll have either reached your goal or moved that much closer, having built real resilience and grit along the way 💪 | 165 |
| 3 | Been having the same conversation with so many of my friends and clients lately.
Almost all of us in our 30s are feeling it, this decade feels like the "messy middle." 🌀
💔 Relationships: Navigating breakups, dating intentionally to figure out who you actually want to build a life with, or raising young kids (and sometimes dealing with it all at once).
💼 Career: Looking back on 10–15 years of work, staring at your screen, and asking: "Wait, is this really the path I want to stay on for the next 20 years?"
⚡ Physical Health: Realizing your body doesn’t bounce back like it used to and energy is something you have to actively protect.
🧠 Mental Health: Carrying all of the above, while watching your parents age and realizing your mind needs to be stronger than ever just to hold the weight of it.
If you’ve been feeling a bit lost or overwhelmed lately, I promise you’re not alone.
Give yourself grace and compassion to figure things out 💫💪 | 301 |
| 4 | It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it.
If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire.
To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment.
- James Clear | 267 |
| 5 | Why (in my opinion) people, including myself, can sometimes stay in places or states that that are no longer aligned.
This excerpt from Michalis Michael articulates it well -
"Freedom is a terrifying thing because it means taking full, unmediated responsibility for where you end up.
It is infinitely easier to follow the good child, the good student, the good friend than to speak up, risk rejection, and have an original thought.
But when you no longer fear falling, you stop caring who is watching you fall." | 307 |
| 6 | "I'm keeping my options open."
It sounds wise. Careful, even. But notice how it actually feels: the open browser tabs, the pro-and-con spreadsheet, the decision you've circled for months.
The more options you collect, the harder it gets to choose, and the less happy you are with whatever you finally pick.
🟥 The dysfunctional belief: Happiness is having it all.
🟩 The reframe: Happiness is letting go of what you don't need.
Choosing well is a process: 1) gather your options, 2) narrow the list, 3) choose, and then the step everyone skips: 4) let go and move on.
We're great at gathering. We sabotage the last step by agonizing or rehashing the roads not taken, which drains all the satisfaction from the road we picked.
- Bill Burnett & Dave Evans | 385 |
| 7 | When a job or relationship gets tough, jumping ship feels like the easiest exit strategy.
But if you don’t understand your own boundaries, triggers, and habits, you just end up repeating history in a different building, with a different boss.
Before handing in your notice, here are 3 questions worth sitting with:
1⃣ What exactly do I dislike about my current situation? Is it the workload, the lack of boundaries, the communication style, or the work itself?
2⃣ How can I actively make things better right here? Have I clearly communicated my limits? Have I tried changing my approach?
3⃣ What tradeoffs am I willing to accept and learn from? What are my actual metrics of success, not salary or title, but energy, ease, and peace?
Of course, there are exceptions.
Some environments are genuinely toxic, and leaving is the only healthy option.
Know yourself, then find your fit. The common denominator in every career step is you.
What patterns are you noticing in your current role that might be trying to teach you something?

| 8 | Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard.
Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard.
Working at a job you dislike is hard. Starting a business is hard.
Living intentionally is hard. Regretting your decisions down the line is hard.
Cutting off relationships that are not aligned to you is hard. Staying in relationships that continually drain you is hard.
Choose your hard. | 332 |
| 9 | I'm convinced that the key to life having low expectations and hig standards.
Low expectations for things outside your control. High standards for things within it. The recipe for a good life.
- Sahil Bloom | 351 |
| 10 | Ask if you're alive.
Ask if you're curious.
Ask if you're becoming someone you respect.
Ask if there are people you would drive 3 hours for at 2 in the morning.
Ask if something still scares you enough to cross a divide for.
Ask if you have something worth grieving because you loved it that much.
Ask if you're making anything, risking anything, feeling anything.
Because some of the most meaningful seasons of your life won't be happy ones.
Rasing a baby can be exhausting.
Building something can be terrifying.
Marriage can be uncomfortable.
Growth can feel lonely.
Grief can split you open.
Starting over can make you question everything.
None of those experiences necessarily feel good. But they can make a life feel true.
- John Kim | 335 |
| 11 | Different kinds of rest matter. Sometimes it’s stillness, sometimes it’s movement, sometimes it’s connection.
The key is finding what restores you. | 285 |
| 12 | A healthy relationship teaches you that "you knew what I was like when you met me” isn't always a reason to stay the same.
We all bring patterns into relationships.
Part of growing together is being willing to look at our own patterns, work on what is hurting the relationship, and speak up about what we need.
- Dr Aria | 295 |
| 13 | "What differentiates the people who break during tough times from those who endure?"
"Peacetime prep. Life gets heavy for everyone - that part is guaranteed.
But the ones who survive the storm are the ones who leaned into voluntary discomfort before it hit."
"What does that actually look like in real life?"
"It’s using calm moments to build physical and mental resilience.
It’s pushing through a tough run when you’d rather quit, processing hard emotions instead of numbing them, and having hard conversations vs running away."
"So the 'peace time prep' is the solution?"
"Exactly. 'He who sweats more in training bleeds less in war.'
When crisis strikes, you don't panic or shatter under the weight - you fall back on the strength you built when no one was watching." | 308 |
| 14 | Most people never realize the difference between avoidance and peace.
The hard conversation you keep delaying.
The problem you pretend isn't growing.
The small repair you keep putting off.
None of these get easier with time.
They get worse.
Every act of avoidance feels like relief in the moment.
But it's borrowing from your future self at a brutal interest rate.
The pattern never reverses on its own.
It only compounds.
Peace is never found through avoidance.
It's found through direct, early action.
The people who build the best lives aren't fearless.
They just do the uncomfortable thing sooner.
They have the conversation before it becomes a confrontation.
They fix the crack before it splits the foundation.
They say the hard truth before it becomes a harder lie.
- Sahil Bloom | 318 |
| 15 | I love this excerpt by James Clear -
I recently asked a friend if he wanted to hit a certain business milestone and he said, "That depends. What does it cost me?"
Writing down your goals is easy. Everybody wants the glamorous result.
What really matters is whether you want the costs associated with it: the money, the time, the tradeoffs.
Don't merely ask yourself what do I want to achieve, but also what am I willing to pay?
I tell my clients often that there is no perfect decision - just know the tradeoffs so you can make decisions more intentionally.
That actually reduces a lot of fear of making the "wrong" decision.
What is right or wrong anyway? Who is to decide? In what time frame?
Coming back to this has helped ease a lot of my anxiety when it comes to making major decisions 💪 | 303 |
| 16 | Returning from a recent trip to Europe got me reflecting on the invisible "default settings" we grow up with here.
Between baggage carousel delays and rental car mix-ups abroad, my Singaporean mindset naturally craved order, speed, and accountability.
When your environment operates like a well-oiled machine, efficiency becomes second nature.
But living in a high-performance system comes with a trade-off: an unspoken pressure to constantly optimize, produce, and treat our own lives like machines.
In Europe, amidst the slower administrative pace, I saw another way of being - people lingering over three-hour lunches and fiercely protecting their rest.
It wasn't about which culture is superior, but a reminder that hyper-efficiency isn't the only valid blueprint for living.
Growing up here means standing on the shoulders of giants as the foundation is built - and we get to choose what we build on top of it.
Happy Birthday, Singapore! 🇸🇬❤️

| 17 | “I did everything I was supposed to. Why do I still feel stuck?”
After years of coaching high functioning professionals, I've sat across hundreds of them, and while the details are always different, but the patterns underneath are often the same.
Our patterns shape how we think, feel, and decide, often without us noticing.
When we don’t examine or understand our patterns, they will subconsciously build a life around what looks right rather than what you'd actually choose.
These are the 4 broad inner patterns I've noticed after hundreds of coaching conversations ⟶
1️⃣: The Driven Achiever
2️⃣: The Skilled Expert
3️⃣: The Supportive Contributor
4️⃣: The Creative Maverick
Most of us never stop to understand our patterns. We just keep moving, doing what's expected, doing what's worked before, until "supposed to" and "actually chosen" start to feel like the same thing. They're not.
Understanding your patterns is what makes living intentionally possible.
3 minutes, 4 patterns, and a series of 3 personalised emails afterward with actionable steps you can take - I hope this reflection quiz helps you to see yours clearly 💫 | 368 |

| 19 | 🗯 The Midlife Crisis is about action that chases feelings from the past.
It's about re-living those things that your 18-year-old self would find very impressive.
Fast cars. Young, attractive romantic partners. Fancy stuff. Status symbols. Limited responsibilities.
🗯 The Reverse Midlife Crisis is about presence that compounds meaning for the future.
It's about building those things that your 80-year-old self will find impressive.
Deep relationships. A healthy, fit body. A grounded, peaceful mind. Earned status. Meaningful responsibilities.
In other words, if a Midlife Crisis is about impressing the person you used to be, a Reverse Midlife Crisis is about sparking pride in the person you will become.
They both start in the same place. With the same fear, the same anxiety, the same grief over time lost.
Their only difference is the direction of the response.
At 35, I'm not here to impress my 18-year-old self. He's gone. A relic of a past season I don't feel a need to cling to.
I'm here to live this season. To be present. And to compound for all those seasons to come.

| 20 | Happy (almost) mid-week!! Sharing 5 reminders for when you feel disconnected from your own life 💫
1. The most important thing you can do is build a life you actually chose.
2. The life you tolerate becomes the life you live.
3. The most underrated skill: Knowing when you've drifted, before the cost becomes irreversible.
4. You can be disciplined, successful, and still be living someone else's version of your life.
5. Growth isn't always moving forward. Sometimes it's stopping long enough to ask if this is actually where you want to go. | 303 |
