A successful raid was no longer measured only by who was captured or killed. Every phone, computer, document, and thumb drive could expose another part of the terrorist network. Intelligence collected during one operation could generate four or five additional raids within hours. The battlefield had become an intelligence contest. Whoever understood the network and acted fastest controlled the initiative. 3/4

The terrorist networks operating in Iraq and Afghanistan were decentralized, adaptive, and moving faster than our traditional military structure. To defeat a network, we had to become a network. By integrating intelligence directly with special operations, we increased our operational tempo from six raids to 36 raids in a single 24-hour period during the campaign to find Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. During the War on Terror, intelligence was one of our greatest weapons. But possessing information was not enough. We were still losing Americans on the battlefield, and I wanted to know what we were missing. The intelligence professionals and operators had to become one integrated team. It has been shaped in churches, town halls, school board meetings, and communities where ordinary citizens accepted an extraordinary responsibility to lead. Breaking: U.S. education system and Communism History shows that lasting political change often enters institutions under the language of compassion, safety, and necessity. A good example is Social-Emotional Learning, commonly called SEL, which is presented as a way to teach children emotional regulation, relationships, decision-making, and self-awareness. During COVID, it expanded rapidly as Washington sent nearly $122 billion in federal relief funding to schools. School Districts were required to reserve at least 20% of their allocation for interventions addressing students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. Federal guidance then encouraged schools to integrate SEL into the school day. Teachers who entered the profession to educate children in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and history were suddenly expected to assume responsibilities resembling those of mental-health specialists. They were asked to evaluate students’ emotions, guide conversations about identity, administer behavioral surveys, and implement psychological frameworks without the clinical training, licensing, or safeguards expected of mental-health professionals. Once a school begins shaping a child’s emotions, identity, values, and relationships, education can move from teaching children how to think toward telling them what to think. That is contrary to the American principles of parental authority, individual liberty, independent judgment, and freedom of conscience. Is SEL operating in your school district? What is your child being asked to disclose? Who reviews that information? Are teachers being expected to provide mental health interventions? Is the program being funded with your tax dollars? What entered as an emergency response did not necessarily leave when the emergency ended. Local Action = National Impact Get involved in your local School Boards and most definitely your child’s education.

She was tough, funny, very direct, fiercely loyal, and never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. I learned a lot from her about strength, family, faith, and standing your ground.
