| 2 |  At the June 23, 2026 meeting of the Higley USD Governing Board, Board President Amanda Wade, currently running for reelection, defended keeping sexually explicit books accessible to students.
Among the books being defended:
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, the #1 most banned book in schools in the US, contains masturbation, erections, porn, sexual jokes, and adolescent sexual content.
Invisible Man contains prostitution, sexual encounters, sexual manipulation, sexualized imagery, violence, etc.
Crying in H Mart, which was written for adults, includes sexual experiences, intimacy, profanity, alcohol use and adult relationship themes.
Arizona law prohibits exposing minors to harmful sexual material. Yet these are the books Wade chose to defend. See A.R.S. §13-3501.
Taxpayer dollars should not fund sexually explicit material in public schools.

We must urge lawmakers to reject a proposed agreement that would place new regulations on Arizona’s ESA program in exchange for Save Our Schools Arizona and teachers unions withdrawing an anti-ESA ballot measure. More than 100,000 students rely on ESA scholarships, including students with special needs, low-income families, and families who chose alternatives to district schools. The proposed regulations would make ESAs harder to use, easier to attack, and ultimately unsustainable. Hobbs and her allies have spent years trying to remove students from the program and return them to government schools. Accepting the deal would give Hobbs a major political victory and validate previous attacks on ESAs. Republicans were elected to protect school choice, not negotiate with organizations seeking to eliminate it. No version of the proposed bargain is acceptable, and any concession would encourage future efforts to further restrict the program. Send your email and urge lawmakers to reject the deal and hold the line in defense of educational freedom.

| 8 | America First Legal has filed a lawsuit against Flagstaff Unified School District after the district allegedly failed to respond to a public records request concerning a January 2026 student walkout protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to the complaint, district employees escorted approximately 800 students more than a mile from campus to Flagstaff City Hall without notifying parents or obtaining consent. After submitting a records request in February seeking documents related to the district’s planning and knowledge of the event, AFL says the district failed to produce any records or provide a response, despite Arizona’s public records laws requiring prompt access. AFL is asking the court to compel immediate disclosure of all responsive documents and to hold the district accountable for what it describes as a serious violation of transparency and parental rights.

| 9 | Peoria Unified School District’s governing board voted to remove Board President Heather Rooks after she pushed for an additional third-party investigation into the Centennial High School teacher predator scandal and possible mandatory reporting failures by administrators. The board majority replaced her with Jeff Tobey as president and kept Becky Proudfit as vice president/clerk, despite widespread parent concerns about student safety and accountability.
What makes this even more disturbing is that both Jeff Tobey and Becky Proudfit are Republican precinct committeemen. Heather helped Jeff get elected, and in return, both of them stabbed her in the back simply because she refused to back down from protecting children. It was painfully obvious this leadership change was preplanned to make Jeff president while keeping Becky in leadership. We are absolutely disgusted by their actions last night, and it is time for LD28, the Maricopa County Republican Committee, and the Arizona GOP to take action against these traitors. Becky was just nominated as 3rd Vice Chair in LD28. Parents should be furious that the majority of this board chose politics and self-preservation over protecting children from predators. Shame on them.

| 11 |  This AZ financial summary completely destroys the narrative that public schools are being “starved” of funding. According to the report, AZ school districts ended FY2025 with more than $7.07B in ending balances/carryforward while total revenues exceeded $13.6B. At the same time, enrollment continues declining, yet spending keeps increasing. The data also shows districts spent about $1.7B on admin while maintaining tens of billions in capital assets and large reserves.
This is why parents are frustrated when activists claim ESAs are “draining” public schools. Districts are sitting on enormous $$ reserves while demanding even more taxpayer $$. If SOS truly cared about “unused taxpayer $$,” they’d demand districts return billions in unused carryforward funds or explain why so much money sits idle while academic outcomes remain mediocre. But they never do. Instead, they target parents seeking alternatives outside the system.
