| 2 | While I was in Perth, I was invited by @urban.popups to give a lesson for a group of women on Feminism and the Crisis of Motherhood. It seems that the topic of the event and the flyer triggered a controversy on social media before the event actually happened. Avoid getting involved on social media controversies, so I didn't really engage the comments there. But I thought it might be beneficial for everyone to hear what exactly I sent. So a recording of the event has been posted to YouTube for everyone to watch. If you know anyone who was upset by the title of the event, please share the recording with them!

| 3 | My final session with the students at Sila Circles was about cultivating our relationship with Allah Most High through regular worship.
I intended it as my parting words of advice to a group of students that I had grown to love over the week that I had spent with them.
At the end, one of the students gave me a gift on behalf of everyone and read out their parting words to me.
I cried as I heard what they said, and my eyes continue to fill with tears every time I read it.
May Allah Most High always keep our hearts connected to each other for His sake, and may He continue the connection (sila) that we established in Perth, both in this world, and in the next world with the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace). | 152 |
| 4 | The second topic that I focussed on with the Sila Circles community was marriage and family.
Most of the students at Sila Circles are young. They are either unmarried or recently married. We currently have a family crisis in our communities all over the world. That's why our children are losing their religion, that's why our homes are full of division, that's why mental health problems are plaguing our communities, and that's why Muslims are being misled into searching for solutions to their problems with the trends on social media.
My goal with the Sila Circles community was to help them get married and stay married for the sake of Allah Most High so that their families can, insha'allah be a positive solution to this problem in the coming years.
We learned about what a healthy Islamic marriage looks like, with a focus on both the rules and the spirit, and we then used that to talk about love, romance, sexuality, feminism, masculinity, domestic violence, raising children, and a host of related topics. | 152 |
| 5 | I focussed on two topics with the students at Sila Circles.
The first topic was Islamic spirituality. Over the course of four days, we learned that the reality of human beings is not their body, but their soul, and that the essence of Islam is about learning how to love Allah Most High by purifying our souls.
We did deep-dives into the meanings of loving Allah, remembering Him, being grateful to Him, being his slaves, and repenting to Him.
These lessons weren't just theory. We learned how to move our hearts to actually do all of these things, and how to practice them in our lives. We learned some practical exercises on how to be grateful, how to love Allah Most High, and how to repent to Him.
May Allah Most High reward Sakinah Center and the MSA at the University of Western Australia for hosting these events and making them possible.
Recordings of many of these lessons will be posted to the Basira Academy, insha'allah.

| 6 | For the past three years, my friend and student Osama Hassan has been teaching Why Islam is True, Why Muhammad is God's Messenger, and several other Basira courses on the ground to young Muslim university students and young Muslim professionals in Perth. As the demand grew, he trained others to teach the courses, too, and he and his team have taught and transformed the lives of hundreds of students. They were the ones who brought me to Australia, and that's why my first stop was Perth, even though (fun fact!) it's the most isolated city in the world. I enjoyed spending a week with them, may Allah Most High preserve all of them and fulfill all of their hopes and aspirations in this life and the next. | 317 |
| 7 | I'm now going to rewind back to Perth.
On my second morning in Perth, I gave an important lesson on how to respond to the Islamophobic accusation that Muslims are lying about their religion when they say that it's peaceful.
This was very much on people's minds. The night before, when I explained why the ghazawat of the Prophet prove that he is a prophet of mercy, not a prophet of war, one of the young men asked me how to respond if an Islamophobe responded to my talk by saying that I'm just telling a lie because that's what Muslims are supposed to do in order to deceive the non-Muslims around them.
(A recording of this session has been posted to the Basira Academy, and subscribers can watch it and bring their questions to our next live session next week.) | 342 |

| 10 | Before I tell you more about Pauline Hanson and what happened in Perth, I'm going to fast-forward to the end of my trip to Australia in Sydney, where I sat with Kamal Saleh of OnePath Network to talk about evolution and a variety of other modern issues from a Why-Islam-is-True perspective. | 385 |
| 11 | Early next morning, I visited the Australian Islamic College, where I met with Abdullah Khan, one of the leaders of the Muslim community in Australia, and CEO of the College. I also attended the end of term awards ceremony. I spoke to the students about the Prophet's selfless mercy at Taif. | 524 |
| 12 | I gave a lesson that evening at Masjid Furqan called, "Muhammad: Prophet of War or Prophet of Peace?" There were lots of excellent questions from the audience. I would discover the next day that it's all because if a lady called Pauline Hanson. | 513 |
| 13 | Here is the podcast:

| 14 | Thank you to Mawlana Shakeeb for hosting me for a delicious lunch, some wonderful cups of tea, good company, and then an engaging podcast on The Balanced Network! | 961 |
| 15 | On Friday, I gave a khutba at Perth Mosque about a forgotten sunna of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that may contain the secret of the success of Islam in the Western world today. If I just tell you what that secret is, you won't be convinced, so I think I will either wrote or. Record something about it and share with you after I return from Australia. | 539 |
| 16 | Thank you to Dr. Jamal for his warm hospitality in Bunbury. He is from Mecca, but his ancestors are from Bukhara. That is the beauty of the Meccans. Their ancestors are from all over the Islamic world and their diverse cultural backgrounds all come together into a beautiful tapestry that loves to worship Allah Most High at the blessed Kaba. | 514 |
| 17 | While I was in Bunbury, I drove to the nearby town of Bustleton and walked 1.8 km to the end of the longest jetty (i.e., pier) in the world! | 504 |
| 18 | On Wednesday and Thursday evening, I enjoyed spending time with the Muslim parents and children of Bunbury.
We talked about arguments for the existence of God and arguments for the genuine measengerhood of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The best part was the children's questions. They were inquisitive and alhamdulillah they didn't hold back!
Thanks to Al Noor Bunbury Center @alnoorbunburycenter for organizing and for their warm hospitality. | 674 |

| 20 | I arrived in Australia for the first time one week ago. Australia is different. The animals are different. The trees are different. The people are different. The Muslims are different! I just finished my visits to Perth and I'm off to Adelaide. Here's what's happened so far. | 570 |
