3 of 3 Lastly, I want to encourage you to keep planning for a good future! When you only bend the knee for the Lord, you are truly living free so it doesn’t matter what enemies of God plan. The Lord constantly upends the enemy’s schemes. In fact, I pray for Esther moments: take what the enemy plans for us and use it for them! Life is good. Life with God is lovelier.

2 of 3 Why am I sharing this with you? What does this have to do with Less Is More? Because if we hold on –even loosely, to something (or an idea or a person) we think we need to hold onto, we will miss what God wants for us. And His ways will always be uniquely better than ours! So while it may seem that I am exchanging one responsibility for another – neutralizing Less Is More, I am letting go of one role in order to receive the blessings that come with new opportunities in a different role. I would not have been aware of the beautiful spark waiting to be ignited if I wasn’t willing to let go. Or put more precisely, if we’re in a constant state of being too busy, too stressed, too distracted we can miss the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit. Making it a daily habit to be calm before the Lord, putting our focus on Him, allows us to be more in tune with His moving in our lives. Keep plugging away at Less Is More, friends, asking God to show you what needs to be held and what needs to be let go.

1 of 3 Remember last month when I said I was taking a big step towards Less Is More? I had to tie up some loose ends and confirm a few details before sharing anything so now I can do so. I have handed over the reins to another to set up field trips for our homeschool organization (I’ve been in this role since 2017). I am still on the board, however my role will be changing as I move away from field trips. The Lord has been guiding me towards bringing enrichment opportunities for our members, particularly high school students. I have been working on this diligently for the last two months, and the ideas I have been fleshing out are beginning to take shape. I am super excited for these prospects!

-1- Back in September 2021, I started a prayer group because I felt overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit to diligently pray for our nation. I asked others if they would like to join me in lifting up our voices to the Lord, seeking His forgiveness, asking for His guidance, thanking Him for His mercy. The original goal was soon lost as Believers wanted to connect to one another as they felt lead –this was fine. Of course when our home was upended over our health crisis, my involvement diminished. And I am sorry for that. God has been prompting me for the last several months to re-engage, and I have sought His direction for a name change and purpose.

These photos were taken about twenty minutes apart. The first one was all white snow and gold sky, and I didn’t know the colors were coming. I didn’t think it needed colors; it was just beautiful with the light and fresh snow. And then twenty minutes later, boom, hallelujah chorus, unexpected triumph and flagrant joy. So here’s a word if you need it: You might be perfectly content, resigned to things, feeling like you should not ask for more. And that’s good; we should cultivate contentment and gratitude; we should find beauty in the simplicity of now. But God has surprises up His sleeve, and He loves to give His kids unexpected gifts. Do not let your contentment shrink your view of God’s love for you. His ways are not our ways, and He will always be more generous and beautiful than we could ever imagine. He has colors ahead that you don’t see coming.

-2- Thank you to those of you who swung by to say, “hi” or dropped by to take a peek. Thank you also for the unbelievably kind words you shared with me. You have no idea how much this means to me –how timely since I’ve had a few sucker punches lately. I endeavor to hear and relay God’s message so your sweetness encourages me to stay the course. I apologize for sounding like all kinds of idiotic. I’m better at the keyboard than speaking, but walking around with a keyboard slung like a guitar is kinda awkward… for other people. It would be great to try this again. Perhaps I should practice speaking non-idiotic. Or maybe I’ll just keep it on mute to let y’all talk just so I can nimble on some cookies. Keep believing for the miraculous, friends!

-1- That… was awesome! Believers sharing what they hold dearest to their heart. This wonderful ebb and flow of conversation revealed that our faith is foremost on our minds. We took comfort in knowing that others understand our struggles, setbacks and situations. We desire to align our will to God’s and know that it’s crucial to practice hearing His voice. One way to practice hearing the Lord is tuning out all the noise of this world –even physically removing ourselves from the distractions. We should consider if the greatest distraction is ourselves. After all, it’s not about us, it’s about Him. No matter what the stumbling block is, no matter what the question is, no matter what’s happened or will happen, the answer is always Jesus. As children of the Most High we have been given His power to rebuke and call forth. We must start exercising this remarkable gift as His faithful children. We are motivated to obedience because of our love for Him. In return we receive His peace. So priceless. So many of us are disillusioned with what see happening in the Church. We talked about what does church look like, and what could be our role in attending. We recognize God’s hand in joining like-minded Believers together through unconventional means such as Telegram, and are grateful for this community of Believers!
