God has spoken to me so much about the themes of truth and trust over the last few years. Such as... 🔥Lying about something to the point of convincing oneself the lies are actually true does not excuse lying...it just compounds the sin of lying. 🔥Lying “for the sake of truth” is sin. Lying for the sake of saving face or protecting a person’s/institution’s image or reputation is sin. Lying for the sake of a “bigger cause” is sin. It also reveals an unbiblical mindset and a foundation of sand that will eventually crumble if left uncorrected. 🔥People who practice these things do not like being called out on it. (Surprise!😂) They also do not like it when honest people set up boundaries as a consequence of it. Generally they will react with more lies — in the form of projection, accusation, or blame. 🔥It’s worth asking the Lord if we walk in falsehood in anything, in any slippery, habitual way. He longs to correct repentant hearts quietly and gently. But He will correct publicly and painfully if necessary. 📖 Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! — Psalm 40:4
