Big congrats to all J2s for finishing GP 🥳🥳🥳 And of course good luck for all your remaining papers, but first get some well-deserved rest! I know a lot of us are going to leave, which is understandable. But if you have found this Channel useful, please kindly share it with your juniors/family/friends or others who are taking GP (even at least 1 person would be awesome). It would be really wonderful if you could do that before leaving this Channel! I really hope that some thinking/writing skills you learned here would stay with you even beyond the A Levels 😊 It would be the greatest appreciation if you could share this Channel and build the community so that others in the future could benefit as you have, and that I can continue my dream of making GP accessible for everyone 😁 Thank you for being a big part of my teaching life this year 🥰 I wish you all the best for all your upcoming papers and future endeavours :) (But if you want to stay tune to read my model AQ for 2026, I will be sharing that later today 😃)

Good luck for P2 everyone, regardless of how you have done for P1, this is equally important and you can give it your all and then be done with GP 🥳

Last min quick Compre tips: 1. Do not skip reading the passage or only do it sloppily because the overall understanding is in fact extremely integral to the accuracy of our answers across all parts 2. Be very very mindful of paraphrasing because this is usually the biggest downfall for most students 3. Manage time well. To do this, we need to have a clear sense of how much time we intend to spend on each section and also have a habit of checking the time to ensure we don't end up getting carried away with any section 4. The AQ topic this year will likely be quite niche, and that's okay. Instead of panicking, try to think about tweaking. Tweak whatever egs you may know for SG and try you best to connect it to the topic 5. When it comes to AQ, pay extra attention to the author's arguments. The whole point of AQ is precisely to address whether these arguments apply well to SG, but many students often forget that and end up just talking about SG without explicitly or extensively linking back to the initial author's point 6. Aim for at least 10 points in Summary. It's essential to scoring the full 8 marks. Some papers even need 12 points!

Last call for anyone who wants to purchase the 150+ AQ case studies :) I compiled this across many many hours and updated it very consistently over the years These are helpful because unlike Essay, we don't get a choice in the AQ topic. Which means we must have egs no matter what comes out. The strategy then relies on Tweaking, where we adjust our content knowledge and find a way to apply it to the question no matter what it's asking. But Tweaking is only effective if we have a good spread of SG case studies in the first place. And again, it's not about memorising, you just need to know roughly what these are. They also help us process the important Features of Singapore, which are a must-write in any AQ Point BEFORE you dive into the Eg+Exp parts. Feature or SG = Reason why you agree/disagree with author's point and how it relates to SG

Additional details: The 150 examples are 46 pages and 14.7k words :) Lots of examples updated based on the latest happenings in SG

Also since some of you are asking (whether there's still something available for P2), tomorrow I do intend to do a final lesson for Compre. Yes! And here are the highlights (it's a paid lesson): ✅ 1 lesson crash course, 10+ essential skills for all sections - including the various SAQ types, COI, SQ, AQ ✅ Free access to a SG Examples resource of 150+ egs (can be shared immediately upon signing up) ✅ Discuss the likely areas of interest given what already came out for Essay ✅ Curated practice + 1-1 feedback for every student (we will do 1 SAQ and 1 AQ paragraph) J1s welcome too if you're free and keen :) You may also opt for just the AQ examples if you like, special price for that. Do let me know if you spot any mistakes / typo, I spent too many hours thinking, typing, staring at the screen. Going to take a break now :)

Everything except Q5 and Q7 are actually pretty standard and easy. But some qns do have traps (you can read my analysis to understand more), Q3 easily becomes example-driven, Q8 can get confusing if you don't clearly process what it means to agree/disagree, or don't understand the intent behind the question. Q6, like all IYS questions, must include key features of Singapore in the points, it's not enough to only give SG examples. And as usual, none of these questions should feature trivial egs that come from stats / research / general speculation. We should always favour in-depth case study evidence. Students writing Q3, Q5, Q6 may be tempted to discuss random stats, but it's not ideal!

Which Essay Qn did you do in 2026?

Hello dear students, here's the analysis for 2026 A Levels :) I would like to emphasise - this isn't the only right answer! T
Hello dear students, here's the analysis for 2026 A Levels :) I would like to emphasise - this isn't the only right answer! These are just some suggested arguments. Hopefully a lot of us would feel more assured after reading this. To my incoming J1s, J2s, and IP4s, or other international students who are taking GP, this is a helpful resource for you to understand the requirements of GP and the kinds of in-depth arguments required to score well. You can also spend some time to process how I analyse every question, especially the modifiers! 'Insights' feature some key skills. 'Tweaking' explains how I thought of my points. Tweaking is an advanced skill I teach students to help them apply arguments we have discussed in our model essays to new questions they come across. That being said, questions are unique and not all of the ideas can come from Tweaking! But it's still a helpful way to understand how many arguments in GP are interconnected 😁 #Article

Will reply you guys in a bit! Going to spend the next couple of hours thinking about the questions :) For the J2s please go and get some rest before you prepare for Compre!

Hello J2s, when you read this, congrats on conquering the essay :) If you are able to, please send me the questions and I will start working on the analysis immediately 😁

If you're a J2 reading this, you should definitely go and rest now! If you're reading this after you have woken up, then it's just a gentle reminder to choose your question very carefully. The biggest tip is to never assume that a question is exactly the same as something you have attempted. Always go in with some healthy level of skepticism to avoid careless mistakes. The question choice and our ability to understand and define the question would greatly determine the quality of our essay, a lot is happening in the first 5 mins, so think carefully 💪💪 Good luck everyone!

My dear students, if you're reading this, it means that you have accessed a lot of tips and resources here and you have come a really really long way!! I'm really proud of the effort you have given for GP and for consistently coming back to this channel to try and improve. Your dedication is always what encourages me to continue putting in effort to share. Thank you for being a part of my teaching life this whole year. I just wanted to remind you not to panic tomorrow. Don't worry, you will be fine!! Just recap and remember some of the skills here and remember to really read the question properly to address its full requirements (this is really important!!). And try your best to elaborate more and focus on arguments (not just describing facts) 😁 Have an early night, get enough rest so that your mind will be fresh and sharp for the exam tomorrow!!

Dear students who are taking the paper tomorrow, I would recommend spending some time to review my A Levels analysis from previous year's. Take note of the following: - The hidden requirements and complexities of questions - How we address modifiers - The general tone and language of writing (emphasising Connotation) - The quality and depth of arguments (the amount of logic and elaboration to really flesh it out) - The common pitfalls to avoid, and some of the best practices I have highlighted - The kinds of A Level questions to expect and how we would respond to them - Recent question trends (which then give a sense of what might recur or what isn't going to come out) Best to look at the past 3-5 years I would suggest!

Be a good friend and forward this to someone who really needs some quick tips for GP :)

4. Read through the answer key of different Prelim papers. Get a sense of the common paraphrasing, as well as understand the actual rigour and requirement of the different Compre sections 5. Work on SAQ question types that you are weakest in. Figure this out by looking at your past tests or practices 6. Of course, also brush up on SG examples for both AQ and IYS Essay questions

FAQ: In 1 week what's my priority? 1. Brush up on vocab, as many words as you can because this affects not just Essay Lang and Content depth, but also Compre paraphrasing 2. Sort out your Essay Content. Find my A Level trends + short recording analysis above to get a really informed perspective on what ACTUALLLY comes out, rather than just hope you have something to answer. Then, prepare accordingly. Reminder that the top 3 Themes are in fact Indv Values, Arts, Politics. Not Sci Tech, Media, Environment or any others (though these can be your secondary themes) 3. Pay attention to Essay Arguments. Stop thinking of GP as only Examples. Essays that score masterfully evaluate their examples to showcase the logic and argument. This is extremely crucial 4.
