THE ULTIMATE PREPARATION And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them...And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. Genesis 6:1,5-8,13-17 When Noah's generation became only evil continually, the time came when God decided to destroy that generation. God stated He was going to destroy everything that had the breath of life. God judged creation; the first time we see in the Bible. But, Noah found grace in the sight of the Lord. And God told Noah how to escape the forthcoming judgement. God told Noah to build an ark. In Luke 17, the Lord Jesus tells us the end of the world will be "as in the days of Noe (Noah)", and "as in the days of Lot". As we reach the tipping point where the heart of humans will only be evil continually, how will we escape God's impending judgement? By also 'building' the ark. How? In repenting of our sinfulness, becoming followers of Jesus, learning to depend on Him daily, depending on Him for our living. We must learn to discern His voice in the hurry and flurry, and hustle and bustle of today's world; learn to discern His voice from the plethora of voices in our world. It is by learning to walk with Jesus we prepare adequately for the days and the time ahead. And when it's all been said and done, He is the One who will give us instructions, who will call us in, and hide us from and through the trials coming upon the earth. This is the ultimate preparation: 1. Repent of our sins, become disciples of Jesus, and 2. Learn to walk with the Lord. This is the life of a Christian. Even until the end of time.
