Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy upon him, said:
“It is befitting for a person to take the means by which his offspring may be righteous and upright. Among the greatest of these means is supplicating to Allāh.
Allāh, Glorified and Exalted is He, has mentioned that when a man reaches the fullness of his maturity, he says:
وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِيٓۖ إِنِّي تُبۡتُ إِلَيۡكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ
‘and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will). - Surah Al-Ahqāf, 46:15.
There is no doubt that the righteousness of one’s offspring is something greatly sought after, for righteous children are of benefit to you both during your lifetime and after your death.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy upon him, said:
“Among the etiquettes of offering salām is that a Muslim should greet others with a cheerful face and an open, warm heart. It is well known that one should meet his brother with a pleasant and welcoming face. Indeed, a radiant face, an open heart, and a smile when meeting your brother are undoubtedly among the things encouraged in Islām, for they bring joy to your fellow Muslims.
