Ye are the salt of the earthâŠ.
Salt is so common that you can find it anywhere. But in New Testament times, salt was an expensive and treasured commodity that was vitally needed in many spheres of life. When the Lord Jesus likened His listeners to salt, He knew exactly the kind of images that He wanted to flash through their minds, and He knew that the analogy would strike a chord.
Salt was used as an enhancer, preservative, antiseptic, healing agent, and more. All these characteristics speak of who you ought to be as a Christian. Are you influencing your world the right way? Are people around you feeling the effects of your saltiness? Where salt is, results follow. Be the proof!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear God, thank You for making me salt on this Earth.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am salt. I bring healing to the sick; I disinfect toxic spaces, and bring flavour to those around me. Glory be to God!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25 || DEAD TO SIN
Romans 6:11 (KJV)
Likewise, reckon ye also yourself to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I want you to take note of the word âreckonâ in todayâs theme verse. In the Greek rendering, it is the word logĂzomai, which means to conclude or to count a deed as already done, requiring only your affirmation and recognition.
This is very important because it tells you that in the mind of God, whoever you were in the past no longer has any claim to who you are now in Christ. Sin and its stimulating power have been slain by the power of the Cross. Affirm and recognise this in your life. Youâre not who you used to be, no matter how many reminders the devil throws at you. In Christ, that old person is dead. Donât give room to sin consciousness; youâre completely dead to it!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thank You, Lord, for my salvation which ensured that my old life, my old personality, my old character are terminated, hallelujah!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
The old me is long dead. I live far above circumstances because no sin holds me back in Jesusâ Name!

MONDAY, AUGUST 24 || LET THE FIRE BURN!
2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
In many Christiansâ journey, the zeal they once had for the things of God starts to ebb. I have personally met leaders and laymen alike who reached a point where all that was left burning in them were a few embers. This is how I helped them.
In todayâs verse, âstirâ is the Greek anazĆpyrĂ©Ć, which means to rekindle or stir up zeal. Paul urged the younger minister to deliberately and persistently add firewood to the dying embers in his heart.
Maybe youâre like Timothy was: what you once felt is not whatâs there today. I encourage you to take time out and hit the reset button on your spiritual walk. Start over. You have all the power to jump-start your spirit and get those flames raging once again.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I accept responsibility for letting the fire in me ebb. By Your Holy Spirit, I will start afresh today and actively rekindle the fire to burn inside me again.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am forged in fire. My very life is a life of fire and zeal for God! I shall never allow that fire to die in Jesusâ Name!

If Christians understood just how perfectly crafted they are, most prayer requests would be rendered obsolete. God made you without any form of defect, limitation, or hindrance. Youâre His excellently crafted masterpiece, perfect, excellent and complete.
Todayâs verse says youâre His very handiwork. Not the result of a good doctor, vitamins, or good nutritional routinesâyouâre Godâs workmanship. No scientist in this world can fully comprehend the perfect machine that is you. With this in mind, stand your ground against the wiles of the devil. Refuse to be sick, refuse to be a failure or a victim in life. Walk in dominion and supremacy over the circumstances of this world. Youâre Godâs strange being, a perfect alien, perfect in every way!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thank You, Father, for making me Your perfect masterpiece. Because You made me so perfectly, I walk in the success and victory Youâve already laid out for me in Jesusâ Name!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I always say preaching the Gospel isnât only about standing behind the pulpit, wearing a nice suit and holding a microphone. In many instances, the loudest and most effective sermon is your life. The way you live, speak, and relate with others should draw men to Christ.
Our theme scripture is a perfect reminder of how you ought to conduct yourself in these perilous times where morality has gone out the window. The world is full to the brim of crooked and perverse people. Shine your light into their lives. People are watching you: your friends, family members, colleagues, and even strangers. Your life is a message. Let people âreadâ your life as the perfect signpost to Christ.

Dear God, I thank You for making me a living epistle. My life reflects Your nature and inspires others to follow You.

Joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
When you truly understand the value of a soul, evangelism becomes more than a department in the church; it becomes your number one mission. The mere fact that there are still many who donât know God should eat you up as you weep over them and pray for their salvation. Love pushes you to unashamedly talk to everyone who has ears to hear about Him.
You see, the devil wants people distracted by fame, wealth, and pleasure so that they forget eternity. But as an ambassador of Christ, your duty is to help them see the truth. Start seeing every soul as a treasure waiting to be reclaimed.
If all Heaven rejoices over one sinner that repents, how much more should we labour to see it happen again and again? Make soul winning a priority!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Lord, thank you for saving my life and bringing me into your family. Now use me, Lord, to bring more lost souls into your eternal light.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
By this Word today, my heart shall burn with compassion for the lost more than ever. I shall bring many out from the domain of darkness into Godâs marvellous light!

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repentâŠ
The word repent in the Greek rendering is the word metanoĂ©Ć. It means to make a decision, to completely change, or to entirely turn around in the way one is thinking, believing, or living. The word repent gives the image of a person changing completely. Look at the Ephesian Church for example.
Revelation 2:5 tells us that the Lord Jesus had a straightforward confrontation with the Ephesians when He told them that they had allowed their relationship with Him to wane. This congregation was once viewed as the model church, an example for other churches to copy. Nevertheless, Jesus said its members and leadership alike had âfallenâ; all had faded away. Is the same true of you today? Is the fire you once had for God burning more fiercely, or does only smoke remain? If so, remember where you missed it, repent, and rekindle the fire you once had for God.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for speaking to me about my need to repent. From today, I change the way Iâve been thinking and living.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I prophesy that everything changes in my life from now. I cultivate a meaningful fellowship as the Holy Spirit sets me ablaze for God in Jesusâ Name!

If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Many Christians donât realise the enormous power that exists in simple agreement. The Greek word for âagreeâ in our theme verse is the word sumphĆnĂ©Ć. This is where the word symphony comes from. It means to make a bargain, or to come to an agreement.
A symphony orchestra combines many different instruments to produce a musical masterpiece. When you listen to the beautiful blend of instruments, youâll appreciate why one instrument could never have done the job. No one ought to stand as a lone island. Youâre meant to hold hands with others and agree on things, not only in your own life, but also about things touching the earth. Agree with someone in prayer today about the educational system, nations, your church, family, etc., and it shall be so.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your Word which dictates that where unity prevails, the anointing of Your presence saturates and commands Your blessing to manifest in our midst.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I prophesy that each time I hold virtual hands with brethren around the world in prayer, what we decree as a body shall come to pass in Jesusâ Name!

Place these words on your hearts. Get them deep inside you. ⊠Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night.
Parents are responsible for teaching their children how to live for God and to have a working knowledge of His Word. Todayâs verse reminds parents and guardians to seize every opportunity to do so. Some parents think providing materially for their children is their greatest responsibility. No, it is not! Their greatest responsibility is to impart the teachings and values of the Word of God.
It might not be in a Bible study every day, but constantly and habitually remind them of the goodness of God in your lives. Point out creation on their way to school. At mealtimes, appreciate the God who has provided. God is everywhere; acquaint the children with Him.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Father, teach me how to make practical applications of this Word every day so my children grow in You.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
My children shall grow stronger in the Word every day. I exercise the mandate to release them from any negative bondage and influence affecting their growth in Jesusâ Name!

Today, as you read this, you may not be satisfied with where you are in life right now. That multi-million-dollar company you thought youâd have by now, that mansion you thought youâd have built, all still lingering in your imagination. However, you probably will admit that things are not as bad as they could be! Truth be told, there is so much to be thankful for!
You managed to wake up and get to church today; some didnât wake up at all. You might not have millions yet, but thank God you have a job. You might not have your child yet, but thank God you have your spouse. You see thereâs so much to be thankful for if you just look!
Today, when anyone asks you how youâre doing, simply say, âTHANKFUL!â
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Father, when I consider what You have brought me through, and the place of peace and rest Youâve brought me into, I can only say THANK YOU!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I declare that I shall never neglect to be thankful to The Lord. I move from bondage to liberty in every area of my life because my gratitude to the Lord shall give me altitude!

Everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificantâdog dung. Iâve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ
Ever met people who canât get rid of old things? Rusted, mouse-infested cars rot in the yard, while inside the house is choked with clutterâpiles of broken electronics, outdated machines stacked against the walls coated in dust, and suitcases bursting with musty, bug-ridden clothes. Pretty disturbing picture, right?
Some peopleâs spiritual lives are exactly like that. Rather than deal with issues and keep their lives clean and clear, the spiritual rubbish just keeps building up. Piles of unforgiveness, bitterness, jealousy and other forms of spiritual garbageâall one big mess! What are you holding onto today? Itâs all dog dung! Dump it in the trash, clean up, and move on!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, by the leading of Your Holy Spirit, help me realise when Iâm harbouring things that set me back. I shall never hold onto any negativity in Jesusâ Name!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Today, I start the cleanup process to get rid of every mess Iâve held onto. I shall function freely and clearly as God uses me in this Year of Strange Oil!
