Delhi Police chief authorised to carry out preventive detentions under NSA https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/delhi/delhi-police-commissioner-nsa-powers-july-october-routine-order-10799923/ The authorisation, effective from July 19 to October 18, empowers the Delhi Police Commissioner, Anurag Kumar, to order preventive detention under the Act during this three-month period. Under the NSA, a person may be detained without a regular criminal trial for preventive purposes, subject to the safeguards and procedures laid down in the Act. Such detention can continue for up to 12 months, depending on the circumstances and legal review mechanisms provided under the law.

W.R.T intros - its not necessary that one sticks with their prepared intro. Its usually better to write contextual intros. If such recall is difficult - then CA intros can come handy AFTER your primary introduction as an one liner statement indicating to the examiner that you know about the background of the question. However, it can also vary. For instance, one can always use stats/ranks also as intro supplements. For ex. in a question on MSME - use the famous 30 % GDP, x % employment, y% manuf output in intro. ( GEM) Similarly, can also use the ranks in various indices as value addition just after intro ( Like rank in WEF Gender gap index on questions demanding status of women empowerment or in e-governance - India's rank in UN Egov index). Goal is to put the high quality data/examples/CA events in Initial part of answer to nudge the examiner. Saving them for later use in dimensions on 2nd and 3rd page might not be an equally impactful strategy. @upscseeproanalytics

Along with this - we will add all the MCQs we find from : • CISF • CAPF • CSE • GeoScientist • NDA • State exams ( separately in PCS Playground) Currently, PCS Playground has 5k questions but subcategorisation is missing. To fix this, we will subcategorise exams like BPSC AEDO, BPSC TRE within the parent exam for better granularity. For example for a question on Governor think about what the governor's office does and one by one point out the issue. By applying this method you will end up reducing a lot of mental burden of remembering details. #mains26

After much back and forth, we have finally built our own OCR ML model for UPSC topper copies - PlutoOCR. It is designed to OCR UPSC answer copies. Also, with PlutoOCR, we will no longer incur the costly calls to third party LLMs for ocr analysis to extract the text from topper copies. The quality is comparable to the top paid OCRs. Broadly, PlutoOCR will help us in : 1. Reducing the cost of Mains playground to aspirants. Now we can provide the Mains Playground at reasonable cost. 2. Scaling up Mains playground. With our own OCR model, we can ingest upto 10k topper copies in one day. 3. Help improve Pluto AI bot by feeding the topper copy text in data pipelines for responding accurately to queries.
