According to workers, an exchange of fire between unidentified armed individuals and the camp's civilian security guards left one security guard dead and two others injured, including a passerby.
The armed individuals reportedly checked the workers' identity cards before abducting 11 workers from Punjab.

The Secretariat comes under Peshawar Cantonment, so there was no threat to the mosque or the Secretariat. The Chief Minister stated that he himself went there and reopened the mosque and the Secretariat.
