So yes, I really wrote an article called The Lidl Sunscreen Principle. 😂
It’s about Mica, ordinary objects, why giving someone something to do can completely change a photo… and why the best ideas sometimes come from the least glamorous things in your beach bag.
The full story is now on Heatwave Diaries, in English and Spanish:

Enjoy it,

The funny part is that the sunscreen was never supposed to become a big thing.
I brought it as a random little beach prop. Mica immediately started actually using it, moving around, rubbing it into her skin, laughing… and suddenly I wasn’t photographing someone posing anymore.
I was photographing something happening.
And that’s basically the whole point of the article.
I did not expect a bottle of Lidl sunscreen to teach me anything about photography.
Mica had other plans. 😄
Somewhere between a €12 beach chair, swimming goggles, warm Ibiza light and Mica doing what Mica does, a surprisingly useful little idea appeared.
I called it The Lidl Sunscreen Principle.
Okay, break's over.
Back to today's lesson in maintaining eye contact.
Apparently nobody passed the first exam.
A small sunset break to settle your nerves.
See? Heatwave Diaries also appreciates nature.
I have a theory.
The sexiest photograph from a shoot is very often NOT the one where she is trying hardest to look sexy.
It’s the second before. Or after.
When she laughs at something stupid. When she’s looking for a bottle of water. When she’s fighting with a drink that refuses to open. When she looks at me in between two poses and I have no idea anymore what she was asking me. 😂
I picked five photos where exactly that happened and wrote about them for The Heatwave Diaries.
I genuinely want to know if I’m onto something here.
Read it and then tell me: accidental sexy moment or perfectly executed sexy pose?

Come see how badly Ibiza behaved 👇

Some photoshoots follow the plan.
This one involved Celina, Chiara, a hidden Ibiza pier, zero phone signal, questionable office wear and a “quick cool-off” that became very photogenic 😌
Basically, the plan did not survive the afternoon.
I wrote about why that’s often when the best photos start happening in the new Heatwave Diaries story.
She ordered coffee and something sweet, then watched the sea for a while.
No rushing. No checking the time. No explaining herself.
Sometimes the richest thing in the picture is the woman with nowhere else to be.

First photo: a harmless little thought.
Second photo: the reason your savings account is now in danger.
Heatwave Diaries is basically a scrapbook of images, moods and beautifully questionable ideas I’d happily let influence my life.
Buying a boat is not officially recommended. I’m just saying I understand it now.
She used to think she had to earn days like this.
Now she knows surviving the week was more than enough.
The yacht is optional. The peace of mind isn’t.
She said she needed a van. You volunteered before asking why.
To be fair, when “she” is Janet Guzman, questions can wait. 😎

Be honest. Are you offering her another glass, or volunteering to pour it yourself? Either way, I think we both know this stopped being about hydration a while ago.
