I have sat idly when I know I shouldn’t have, when my words may have had more weight but I wasn’t ready. I still don’t know that I’m ready, but I know that each voice matters. Mine. Yours. I’ve been through a lot and deciding to speak up, if even in writing, is scary for me but if I don’t do it for myself, no one else is going to speak up for me (or for you maybe even). I am not a perfect person, nor would I claim to be one. I am however a constant work in progress and every day I am working to be a better version of myself for myself and my children and whatever comes next. I do not want for my children (and theirs) what I (and many) have been subjected to. I became part of the communities I was in because I had faith in humans to be focusing on the future and positive impact, and instead found my way into groups mostly full of vitriol, hate, targeting, doxxing, and personal attacks. Fear became a ruling force in many, and attacking others was celebrated. I noticed my voice became small and I shrunk myself. I didn’t speak when I knew things were wrong and I should have. I didn’t understand then, though, my own conditioning or how off my own discernment became. I didn’t understand what trauma does to your brain, fully. People would use me and my children, my family as targets or shields with no regard for what their actions were doing in my real life. The games here sent spirals all over my personal existence. I know that I’m not the only one. I owe apologies to those who were trying to point it out to me when I couldn’t see it clearly myself. Maybe I wasn’t ready then, but I see it now. I watched some communities change people. It became their entire life rather than showing up in the real world. I know it distracted me from the ‘real world’. Personality shifts and control, humiliation and victimization on a larger scale. Violence. Blackmail, extortion, trauma. People treating their real lives and those in it like ops and hurting a lot of others in the process. This isn’t a game. Please realize this. This is YOUR LIFE. I didn’t realize how off path I had become myself. I have a lot of work to do, and that’s my mission now.
