Within hours of the news of Fedorov’s dismissal, Ukrainian civil society, veterans, volunteers had already organized a protest for tomorrow morning.
Whether it changes Zelenskyy’s decision is another question.
But amazing to see our democracy alive in perilous times.
| 2 | Going around on Ukrainian social media. It's hardly an exaggeration to say that Zelensky is the greatest impediment to Ukrainian success in this war | 1 |
| 3 | Colonel Pavlo "Lazar" Elizarov resigned from his post as Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force in response to Fedorov being removed as MoD and is requesting to be dismissed from the Ukrainian armed forces altogether. | 22 |
| 4 | A glimmer of hope, or perhaps a light at the end of the tunnel: according to Financial Times journalist Christopher Miller, who has spoken with Ukrainian members of parliament, there is a possibility that the President's nominee for Minister of Defense may not secure enough votes | 19 |
| 5 | The decision to remove FedorovMykhailo as Defence Minister is difficult to describe politely.
For once, Ukraine had a defence minister whose reforms were visibly moving in the direction the military had been asking for years and a real attempt to make soldiers’ voices reach the top.
You do not remove that kind of momentum in the middle of a war unless you have an exceptionally good reason. So far, I do not see one.
This looks like a textbook self-inflicted wound: unpopular with the public, badly understood by the military, and damaging to changes that were just starting to move in the right direction.
It takes real talent to make a decision this senseless. | 26 |
| 6 | A truly idiotic move by Zelensky. The old forces win against the forces of modernity and reform. | 27 |
| 7 | A protest continues in Kyiv against the unfounded dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov from the position of Minister of Defense.
Demonstrators are calling for transparency in personnel decisions. | 40 |
| 8 | have defended Zelenskyy time and time again saying that despite any grumbling or disagreements. Largely he’s been doing a job most would say is acceptable internally and internationally better than anyone else.
This dismissal is Ukrainian self sabotage of their defense against Russia. For politically motivated reasons Zelenskyy removed someone instrumental to have provided Ukraine more momentum across the front than they have had since the Kharkiv counteroffensive.
If this choice is not reversed, people should go to the streets and demand action as the did NABU. This weakened Ukraine—Zelenskyy has weakened Ukraine. | 39 |

| 11 | Head of UK Counter Terrorism police says politicianAnn Widdecombe died in a "targeted attack," the suspect is being questioned under the Terrorism Act and is "under arrest on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism as well as on suspicion of murder." | 133 |
| 12 | The European Union slammed threats against the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Tuesday, after Washington vowed a sweeping campaign against the tribunal.

| 13 | Russia: A woman says she found metal inside a Rublevsky sausage.
Online speculations raise a question of the meat source, since the metal resembles a shrapnel. | 194 |
| 14 | South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has officially appointed Darline Graham Nordone, the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, to serve the remainder of Graham’s U.S. Senate term. | 147 |
| 15 | In a monumental geopolitical shift, French President Emmanuel Macron has officially confirmed that Ukraine has secured domestic manufacturing licenses for three of France's most advanced military assets: Aster-30 anti-ballistic missiles, AASM Hammer 250kg precision-guided bombs, and SCALP long-range cruise missiles. This strategic authorization marks a major turning point, allowing Kyiv to bypass foreign supply bottlenecks and directly localize the mass production of high-tech, deep-strike, and air defense weapons on Ukrainian soil.
Further cementing this long-term defense partnership, Macron announced that Ukraine will integrate French-made Rafale fighter jets into its air force, with deliveries officially scheduled for the 2028–2029 timeframe. The acquisition of these cutting-edge, multi-role combat aircraft will fundamentally overhaul Ukraine’s aerial warfare capabilities and ensure a permanent, westernized deterrence posture against future aggression.
This unprecedented level of technology transfer represents a profound evolution in European military support, signaling that Western allies are no longer just donating stockpiles, but are actively transforming Ukraine into an independent, highly advanced military-industrial powerhouse capable of securing its own skies. | 166 |
| 16 | “Now we’re home. Of course, I want to return to Crimea. I hope it will all be over soon,” says a woman from Barnaul after fleeing Crimea.
Barnaul is about 3,000 km away from Ukraine. | 151 |

Donald Trump (Jul 13): "The U.S.A. will be [...] known as 'THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT,' but as such [...] will be reimbursed, at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped" | 145 |
| 19 | “We’re isolating Crimea and closing the routes in, not the route out.
The bridge is still standing for one reason: so the occupiers can fuck off.

"Obama was the worst of all because Obama actually went to their side, because, you know, he's a -- well, let's not say. Let's leave that for another time." | 185 |
