Slovenian PM announced that his government intends to freeze Slovenia's recognition of the State of Palestine and move the Slovenian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. He made the remarks in an interview with the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom. argued that the previous left-wing government's decision to recognize Palestine was not in accordance with Slovenian law, and said his government would suspend ("freeze") that decision. According to him, reversing the recognition was a condition during coalition negotiations, and all coalition partners agreed. He also said he wants to restore relations between Slovenia and Israel, claiming that ties had deteriorated to a historic low under the previous government. As part of that effort, Slovenia would relocate its embassy to Jerusalem, a move that would make it an exception within the European Union, as no EU member state currently has its embassy there.

CyberBoroshno analysis finds Putin’s residence in Valdai has been demolished. Analysts said the logic remains unclear, but suggested fear of a drone strike on the site as a possible motive. A section of the M-11 highway near the residence was also closed today.

The economic situation in Russia is spiralling out of control, and the Russian occupation of Crimea is experiencing a profound crisis due to Ukrainian pressure. Things are reaching a critical point and I expect Russia’s soft western apologists to start demanding Ukraine relents. Ukraine will not relent, but I expect those who demanded that Kyiv should make major concessions while Ukraine endured WW2 siege conditions last winter will now demand that Ukraine stops its campaign for “humanitarian” reasons.

Ex-Trump adviser John Bolton pleads guilty to mishandling classified documents. John Bolton, a former national security adviser to Donald Trump, has pleaded guilty to mishandling classified security information as part of notes he compiled for a book. Bolton, now a prominent critic of the US president, was indicted on 18 counts related to improper handling of classified material, and initially pleaded not guilty. On Friday, he admitted to a single charge of illegal retention of classified information. The documents he retained included diary entries containing national defence information, some of it classified at the top secret level. Bolton could face up to five years behind bars.

It's not getting much coverage, but that Venezuela earthquake seems pretty bad. It looks like the fault moved across 150 km east to west, on a scale like "the epicenter's in Shizuoka City, but it cracked all the way to Tokyo." According to local media, there's serious building damage in Caracas (metro population 5 million). USGS estimates the median death toll at about 10,000.

Trump May Have Damaged Reflecting Pool by Having Motorcade Drive Over It. Video accounts showed that Trump’s convoy drove over the drained, newly sealed basin in May as part of a tour of the project, which had been repainted “American flag blue” ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary. In the weeks that followed, the pool began showing signs of deterioration, including peeling coating. While experts and fact-checkers note that it remains unclear whether the heavy vehicles directly caused the damage, the timing has fueled debate over whether the motorcade’s weight might have compromised the freshly treated surface.

Russian soldier recorded an address to Putin in which he threatened a coup In just four hours, the video gathered over 3.5 million views on Instagram and more than 125,000 likes. According to observers, this indicates that the situation in Russia is becoming increasingly tense and potentially explosive. Voronezh blogger Alexander Lunin stated that if he is not invited to the Kremlin and not given a chance to speak live alongside Putin, “the army will turn its weapons against the Kremlin.” In his statement, he described alleged widespread abuses in the military — including torture, punishment for refusing orders, “eliminations,” and mysterious disappearances of soldiers.

Yesterday’s abrupt retirement announcement by Gen. Chris Donahue, the Commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) and NATO’s Allied Land Command, was made at the request of the Pentagon under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, people familiar with the matter tell The Wall Street Journal. Prior to this announcement, many believed Donahue was on a fast track to become Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, having led the Army’s Delta Force commandos in Iraq and Syria when it took the fight to Islamic State militants and was the “last man out” when the troops he commanded at the 82nd Airborne Division were called in to secure the 2021 evacuation of U.S. personnel and Afghan allies from Kabul, Afghanistan. General Donahue’s removal is said to be part of an ongoing push by Hegseth to put his imprint on the military’s leadership, while squeezing out officers with track records of battlefield valor and command experience in favor of less accomplished political loyalists, officers that fully support both himself and President Trump.
