I’m not talking about the book until I finish it… but I came across something interesting. There used to be a program called Ethiopian University Service (commonly known as national service )in Ethiopia. University students were required to spend a year in different parts of the country, mostly teaching or working in community projects.( Started around 1964 during Emperor Haile Selassie’s time) They were often sent far from where they lived, and it wasn’t really a choice. The idea was that students should contribute to the country before graduating. What caught my attention is how similar it sounds to what’s being discussed again now.(Dr.Bithanu) I’m still reading, so I don’t want to say too much yet… but found it interesting again

I picked up The Theory of Everything by Stephen Hawking thinking I just unlocked some deep cosmic secrets… I’m reading, feeling smart, like “wait… this is kinda easy… and why does this feel familiar??” Then chapter 3 hits me like: “Bro… you’ve BEEN here before.” So I flip to the contents, do a little detective work… and boom it’s basically A Brief History of Time in a different outfit 😭 At that moment I had to pause and ask myself: Did I get scammed… or did I just scam myself? 😂 fr

now days I’m starting to realize something if you learn to see that way, almost anything becomes interesting. The way a film is framed. The texture of music. The rhythm of walking. The food you’re cooking, slowly coming alive in heat and scent. 🍙 The water you drink, simple and clear, yet somehow never the same twice. The way people talk how they pause, how they choose their words, how their stories unfold in fragments and feelings. Even the quiet, ordinary way your cat moves across a room. 🐱 It’s like romanticizing life, but not in a forced, artificial way more like uncovering something that was always there, waiting patiently to be noticed. A kind of beauty that doesn’t ask for attention, but reveals itself when you finally slow down enough to see it. And I don’t want to lose that way of seeing.🤎

math is mathing as always

I was randomly reading about how Shazam works and accidentally ran into the math behind it 😭 Not even that deep, just curiosity… but why is it actually so smart?? It records a few seconds of sound, treats it like a signal, then uses the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to break it from time → frequencies (basically turning sound into a map of what frequencies exist at each moment). Then it builds a spectrogram, picks the strongest peaks, and turns them into tiny “fingerprints” by pairing frequencies + time differences. After that it hashes those (like compressing them into short codes) and compares them to a massive database… and if enough of them line up with the same time offset, it finds the exact song. LIKE??? this is literally signal processing + hashing + pattern matching just casually happening in seconds And the wild part is it still works in noise because it ignores weak/random sounds and only keeps the strongest patterns. Anyway this is so interesting and I literally have nowhere to say this so here you go lol 😭

I watched Black Girl and I don’t think I experienced it like a “movie.” It felt more like sitting with someone’s pain. It’s quiet, almost too quiet, and that’s what makes it heavy. Nothing is exaggerated, but you can feel something slowly breaking underneath her dignity, her sense of self. The film says so much through silence. You hear her inside, but in her world, she’s barely heard at all. That gap… it hurts. There’s this constant feeling of loneliness not being alone, but not being seen. And even the things that were supposed to mean something, like money or opportunity, start to feel empty. Like they can’t replace what she’s losing. The symbols stayed with me too, especially the mask. It felt like a piece of her identity something real and meaningful reduced to just an object. The same way she slowly is. What really got to me is how the film plays with your expectations. It gives you small moments where you think things might change, where you almost feel relief and then it takes that away in the most painful way. It’s not something you watch for entertainment. It’s something you feel, and carry. I cried (maybe I wanted a reason )

I thought I was watching a story. I didn’t realize I was witnessing someone lose herself in silence.

Hopefully, if I continue learning this stuff ... it will be my roadmap

Last time @Iloveefridays asked me for a guide/roadmap for QM and the math needed for it. I told her I’d put something together, it just took me a bit longer than I expected ... Not gonna lie, I’m not even actively reading QM stuff right now(cos of class ), but I still wanted to share something that might help. This is just part of what I’ve gathered so far I’ll drop the rest in the comments .. It’s nothing perfect just something small I hope could be useful, especially if you’re thinking about taking the course sometime soon. #resources #math #qm

Isn't it funny how we feel so lonely? (Maybe not )..Fr tho Look at the stars they're close to each other, but do you think they're best buds up there? Nah, they're like neighbors who don't even say hi.(don’t mention abt binary star ik abt them lol ) anyway ...It's like feeling misunderstood by someone you really wanna connect with, right? But hey, don't judge those stars I mean Uk....they're lost in their own thoughts, just like us. In times like this, instead of waiting for your sm1 from Mars to get you, try being your own bestie first. If you can't even get yourself, how can you expect an alien or a pet rock to figure you out? So, grab your cosmic mirror and start fixing things....You're the expert on you, after all right?
