The White House is covering up the truth about Trump’s health — it’s worse than people think According to journalist Don Lemon, Donald Trump's health is worse than the administration is letting on.

“History is the evidence. Because I remember being on the air and being the first to report that Donald Trump and Melania Trump had COVID. And when Donald Trump walked out of the White House to walk to Marine One and then go on to the hospital, he looked terrible, but he was sicker than we knew, and no one told us about it,”

Lemon told the Daily Beast Podcast host Joanna Coles. Recalling this, Lemon said:

“There’s nothing that leads me to believe that they would be more transparent about it now.”

Back in July, the White House made an announcement about Trump’s diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which makes it difficult for blood to flow back to the heart. The president was seen with swollen ankles and bruises on the upper part of his right hand, which his makeup crew tried to cover up with a massive amount of foundation. The White House claimed the bruising to frequent handshaking and aspirin usage. Lemon said that "it's natural" for signs of aging to be more noticeable in a 79-year-old.

"So, I think he is probably sicker than they’re letting on,"

he said.

“And I wish there was more transparency because this administration seems to be more concerned about Joe Biden’s alleged cognitive issues, and he’s not even in office anymore. And I think they should be more transparent about Donald Trump’s issues.”

Lemon added that he would like greater transparency on this topic, and for press to be more persistent when asking about the president’s health. The White House immediately went on the offensive, and even resorted to personal insults. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said:

New report estimates Washington will lose billions in revenue because of Trump’s tariffs According to a new state report released on Thursday, food prices in Washington could increase by more than 16% if President Donald Trump's proposed tariffs remain in place. Another attempt at peace in the Middle East White House envoy Steve Witkoff sent a new proposal last week to Hamas for a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal through an Israeli peace activist, according to two sources with direct knowledge. This new proposal is supposed to get ahead of the massive offensive Israel is planning to launch to occupy Gaza City and find a diplomatic solution. On Friday, Donald Trump said the U.S. is "in deep negotiations with Hamas" on a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal. The message was:

"If you immediately release the hostages, good things are going to happen, but if you don't — it is going to be tough and nasty for you."

Under the new proposal Hamas would release all 48 remaining hostages in exchange for a ceasefire and the end of the Israeli operation to occupy Gaza. Israel will release 2500-3000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in its prisons, including hundreds serving life sentences for killing Israelis. Once the ceasefire is declared, negotiations to end the war will begin. Israel's demands for Hamas' disarmament and Hamas' demand for a final and complete withdrawal of the IDF from the Gaza Strip will be taken into consideration. If Hamas agrees, Trump would actively work to end the war. If not — Israeli operation to fully occupy Gaza will go ahead as planned. Witkoff recently managed to establish a new back channel to Hamas through Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin. But Israeli officials who were told about this new back channel doubt it will lead to a breakthrough in the stalled negotiations. According to them, Hamas is suspicious about the special envoy’s back channels that bypass the Egyptians and Qataris, they are not seen as reliable. Hypocritical as ever, Trump called on Europe to completely stop buying Russian oil, while refusing to impose additional sanctions on the country European leaders decided to call Trump into their “Coalition of the Willing” meeting, likely hoping to secure his support. Instead, they got scolded. Striking a combative tone amid failure to end the fighting in Ukraine, Trump told European leaders to stop buying Russian oil. The US president was likely referring to crude imports by Hungary and Slovakia and to fuel made from Russian crude that Europe continues to purchase from third countries, such as India. He also called on the Europeans to “place economic pressure on China for funding Russia’s war efforts.” One White House official said

"The 'Coalition of the Willing' meeting was on security guarantees for Ukraine. President Trump questioned their seriousness while they continue to fuel Russia's economy and war. The president made clear that this is not his war, and the Europeans must step up as well.”

But Trump is not following his own advice. Despite imposing tariffs on India, he withheld new sanctions on Russia and China, even though China is a top Russian oil buyer. More than 1,000 current and former employees of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have signed an open letter demanding that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. resign from his position as Secretary of Health. In the letter from the organization Save HHS, Kennedy is accused of endangering Americans' health and aiding in violation of the U.S. Constitution. The letter was sent to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, as well as to the Senate Committee on Finance and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

“We swore an oath to support and defend the United States Constitution and to serve the American people. Our oath requires us to speak out when the Constitution is violated and the American people are put at risk,”

the letter said.

More Americans trust Fed over Trump on economy A new poll has revealed that more Americans trust the Federal Reserve's opinions on the U.S. economy than they trust President Trump’s. When asked who they trust more to shape U.S. economic policy, nearly twice as many respondents in the latest Economist/YouGov poll said “the Federal Reserve”. The survey showed that 45% said they trust the Fed more, compared to 26% who trust Trump. Another 29% were undecided between the two. Trump has spent much of his second presidency feuding with the Federal Reserve and its chairman, Jerome Powell, primarily over interest rates. The president has repeatedly brought up repairs to the Fed's downtown headquarters, arguing that Powell is wasting money, and has insisted on the resignation of governor Lisa Cook. This has been widely perceived as a maneuver intended to pressure Powell and other board members to step down. However, a majority of surveyed Americans (59 percent) said they trust the Fed's decisions on interest rates, and more than half (52 percent) said they trust the Federal Reserve board to help guide the U.S. through economic uncertainty. The poll found that 57% of Americans are at least "somewhat" familiar with the Fed's activities. “It might be ironic if, in the end, the protectionist flavor of the day, the tariffs that we’re putting on, if they brought together our enemies and ultimately led to the collapse of the reserve currency of the world. That would be ironic, that it didn’t actually work the way we intended.”

He went on to say:

“And — but we do see our enemies and our adversaries coming together. But not just China and Russia, North Korea, and Iran. We also see India and others being pushed away. So, if you put a 50% tariff on India’s goods, India will become closer to China and closer to Russia. So, I think, really, that we ought to think some of these things through before we put exorbitant tariffs on countries that are potentially and have been our friends, like India.”
