The new tax will hit Europeans hard The European Union plans to introduce a new tax on co₂ emissions, which will apply to households that use fossil fuels for heating, i.e. coal or natural gas. This tax is part of the extension of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to the residential sector. It is not hard to imagine that the new tax will affect millions of Poles. The new rules should come into force on January 1, 2027. This means that from now on, owners of homes and apartments heated by fossil fuels will have to account for additional, high fees for CO₂ emissions. Although the exact tax rates have not yet been approved, it is estimated that the CO₂ fee could be around 45 euros per tonne. The average household in Poland emits about 6 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere per year, which means an additional cost of about 1 200 zlotys per year, or about 100 zlotys per month. However, it is worth remembering that these are preliminary calculations, and the final amounts may change. The introduction of a new tax on CO₂ emissions may lead not only to additional costs for households, but also to an increase in the price of fossil fuels. According to experts, in the coming years, the cost of heating with gas or coal may increase significantly.

"Therefore, it is worth considering investing in more eco-friendly heat sources, such as heat pumps or electric heating, which may prove more economical in the long run."

Although the new tax on gas and coal heating has already caused a lot of excitement, experts warn that this may only be the beginning of big changes."

French economic growth slows to a minimum

"The growth outlook may change,"

Public Accounts Minister Amelie de Montchalen admitted in an interview with Libération last Friday. With each passing day, the government's goal of 0.9% growth by 2025 is looking less and less convincing.  Following the Bank of France, which lowered its forecast for the year by 0.2 points to 0.7%, INSEE also revised its estimates down on Tuesday. According to the latest forecasts, economic activity in France will grow by a meager 0.1 % of GDP in the first quarter, 0.1 points less than expected in December last year, and maintain a sluggish pace of 0.2 % in the second quarter. At the end of June, the growth rate will be only 0.4%.

"For the government to achieve its goal, our scenario would have to fail, and growth would have to start from the beginning of the year, as it did last year,"

says Dorian Rouchet, head of the Department INSEE market conditions.  Donald Trump continues to confuse the tariffs that he intends to impose against other countries, and "the US administration's hesitation on this issue represents a risk both up and down," INSEE said. AfD follows in Trump's footsteps and demands debts from Ukraine

The AfD is demanding that Ukraine return the billions in aid that Germany has given it since the war began. We are talking about both financial support and the supply of weapons."

In this context, Wagenknecht stressed that now "first of all it is necessary to freeze taxpayers 'money".

The number of corporate bankruptcies in Germany is growing steadily The economic crisis in Germany leads to an increase in the number of corporate bankruptcies. A reversal of the trend is not expected. When asked whether creating DOGE was a good or bad idea, 46% said it was a good idea, 40% said it was a bad idea, and another 13% have no opinion. The majority of voters have a strong opinion: 40% say that DOGE is "absolutely a good idea", and 37% say that it is "absolutely a bad idea". However, when voters are asked to rate their feelings about DOGE more broadly, the results change: 41% say they view the effort positively, while 47% say they view it negatively.\ And Musk himself is unpopular: 51% have a negative view of the tech mogul, while 39% have a positive one." The results come at a time when efforts to reduce the size of the federal government dominated the first weeks of President Donald Trump's administration, with government spending and the federal workforce declining at a breakneck pace. DOGE's attempts to gain access to confidential information, fire employees, and cancel contracts have prompted a wide range of lawsuits. When asked about their attitude to the government, 56% said that it should do more to solve problems and meet people's needs, while 42% said that the government does too much work that is better left to businesses and individuals. A Soros-linked network is behind a lawsuit trying to stop Trump from deporting members of an illegal gang of foreigners. As Breitbart News has learned, a law firm with close ties to the George and Alexander Soros network of leftist nonprofit and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is partly behind a lawsuit aimed at preventing President Donald Trump from deporting illegal immigrant gang members from the United States under the Enemies of Foreigners Act. Over the weekend, the Trump administration applied the Foreign Enemies Act to begin deporting illegal foreign gang members to El Salvador as part of an agreement with President Nayib Bukele. The agreement allows the United States to bring foreign gang members to the country to be held in a mega-prison for an annual fee. Domocracy Forward, which helps the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) represent undocumented immigrants suing the Trump administration, has close financial ties to the Soros network. The firm's clients and partners include left-wing organizations such as the Center for American Progress, the National Center for Immigration Law, Color of Change,UnidosUS, Common Justice, and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, among many others. The Soros-led Open Society Foundation, now run by billionaire George Soros ' son Alexander Soros, has funded several clients and partners of Democracy Forward. For example, in 2023, the Open Society Foundation awarded Color of Change a $ 3 million grant after providing nearly $ 1.5 million in funding to the group in 2018 and 2019. Similarly, and perhaps most importantly, the Open Society Foundation remains one of the largest donors to the Center for American Progress, a group that is considered the unofficial political wing of the Democratic Party. In 2023 alone, the Open Society Foundation provided nearly $ 4 million in grant funding to the Center for American Progress. "I don't want to offend anyone, but the VA shouldn't focus on helping veterans try to change their gender." The vast majority of veterans and Americans agree, which is why this is the right decision, "

VA Secretary Doug Collins said in a statement.

"All eligible veterans, including transgender veterans, will always be welcome at the VA and will always receive the benefits and services they deserve under the law." But if veterans want to try to change their gender, they can do it for their own money, "

"Veterans who do not meet the above criteria are not eligible for sex reassignment hormone therapy through the VA health system,"

the press release states.

"The VA will not provide any other medical or surgical treatment for gender dysphoria to any patient under any circumstances."

"Eligible veterans diagnosed with gender dysphoria or who identify as transgender will continue to receive comprehensive VA medical care that includes preventive and psychiatric care. Today's announcement does not affect VA medical care for eligible veterans who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer,"

🔤🔤🔤🔤2️⃣ Third, Joe Biden too contributed crucially to the escalation and perpetuation of fighting. In late 2021, when Putin mobilized forces on Ukraine’s border and demanded implementation of the Minsk deals, it seemed obvious that unless Zelensky relented, Russia would invade to at least form a land bridge between Donbas and Crimea. Considering that Ukraine already was existentially dependent on U.S. military assistance, if President Biden had insisted that Zelensky comply with Putin’s request, it would have happened. Instead, Biden lamentably left the decision to Zelensky and pledged that if Russia invaded, the U.S. would respond “swiftly and decisively,” which Zelensky read as a green light to defy Putin. Had Trump been president, he would not have provided such a blank check, so Zelensky would have had little choice but to implement the Minsk deals to avert war. Even if Zelensky had still refused and provoked Russia to invade, Trump would have denied him a veto over peace negotiations, which Biden recklessly gave by declaring, “There’s nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.” That pledge tragically emboldened Ukraine to prolong the war in expectation of eventually decisive U.S. military aid, which Biden then refused to supply due to fear of nuclear escalation. In that way, Biden raised false hopes in Ukraine, needlessly perpetuating a war that has killed or wounded hundreds of thousands in the last two years alone during which the frontlines have shifted by less than 1 percent of Ukraine’s territory. The basic outlines of a deal to end the fighting are obvious even if details remain to be negotiated, as Trump and Putin started doing today in a phone call. Russia will continue to occupy Crimea and other portions of the southeast, while the rest of Ukraine will not join NATO but will get security guarantees from some western countries. The sad thing is that such a plan could have been achieved at least two years ago if only President Biden had made military aid conditional on Zelensky negotiating a ceasefire. Even more tragic, whatever peace deal emerges after the war will be worse for Ukraine than the Minsk accords that Zelensky foolishly abandoned due to his political ambitions and naïve expectation of bottomless U.S. support. They only seem preposterous because western audiences have been fed a steady diet of disinformation about Ukraine for more than a decade. It is time to set the record straight on three key points that illuminate why Ukrainians and former President Joe Biden — not merely Russian President Vladimir Putin — bear significant responsibility for the outbreak and perpetuation of war in Ukraine. First, as recently documented by overwhelming forensic evidence, and affirmed even by a Kyiv court, it was Ukrainian right-wing militants who started the violence in 2014 that provoked Russia’s initial invasion of the country’s southeast including Crimea. Back then, Ukraine had a pro-Russia president, Viktor Yanukovych, who had won free and fair elections in 2010 with strong support from ethnic Russians in the country’s southeast. In 2013, he decided to pursue economic cooperation with Russia rather than Europe as previously planned. Pro-western activists responded with mainly peaceful occupation of the capital’s Maidan square and government offices, until the president eventually offered substantial concessions in mid-February 2014, after which they mainly withdrew. Just then, however, right-wing militants overlooking the square started shooting Ukrainian police and remaining protesters. Police returned fire at the militants, who then claimed bogusly that the police had killed the unarmed protesters. Outraged by this ostensible government massacre, Ukrainians descended on the capital and ousted the president, who fled to Russia for protection. Putin responded by deploying troops to Crimea and weapons to the southeast Donbas region on behalf of ethnic Russians who felt their president had been undemocratically overthrown. While this backstory does not justify Russia’s invasion, it explains that it was hardly “unprovoked.” Second, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky contributed to a wider war by violating peace deals with Russia and seeking NATO military aid and membership. The deals, known as Minsk 1 and 2, had been negotiated under his predecessor President Petro Poroshenko in 2014 and 2015 to end fighting in the southeast and protect endangered troops. Ukraine was to guarantee Donbas limited political autonomy by the end of 2015, which Putin believed would be sufficient to prevent Ukraine from joining — or serving as a military base for — NATO. Regrettably, Ukraine refused for seven years to fulfill that commitment. Zelensky even campaigned in 2019 on a promise to finally implement the accords to prevent further war. But after winning election, he reneged, apparently less concerned about risking war than looking weak on Russia. Zelensky instead increased weapons imports from NATO countries, which was the last straw for Putin.
