Exactly 33 years to the day prior to the great Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, that is, on October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had a remarkable vision. When the aged Pontiff had finished celebrating Mass in his private Vatican Chapel, attended by a few Cardinals and members of the Vatican staff, he suddenly stopped at the foot of the altar. He stood there for about 10 minutes, as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Make sure your name written in the book by trusting in the finished work of Christ and walking in obedience. Pursue wisdom from Scripture rather than merely consuming information. Study Daniel, the Gospels, and Revelation with humility and dependence on the Spirit. Lead others toward righteousness....share the gospel, disciple believers, live as a visible light. Expect refining pressure and refuse to be surprised or shaken by it. Wait with hope. The period of trouble is limited.... deliverance and shining forever are certain Daniel was told, “Go your way… you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days” (v. 13). That same promise holds for every believer today. The sealed book is being opened in God’s timing. Our part is faithfulness until the end.

We live in a period of rapid global upheaval, information explosion, moral polarization, and rising pressure on those who hold to biblical truth. Daniel 12 speaks directly into this Unprecedented trouble is real, but not ultimate. Wars, pandemics, economic instability, ideological conflict, persecution of believers in many places, and the re-emergence of Israel as a nation in its land all fit the atmosphere of “distress such as has not happened.” Yet the text insists that Michael still arises and that those written in the book are delivered. Our confidence is not in political solutions or cultural trends but in God’s sovereign protection of His people. Knowledge is exploding—and so is confusion. Travel, data, AI, instantaneous global communication, and access to information have increased beyond anything previous generations could imagine. At the same time, spiritual and moral confusion is widespread. Daniel 12:4 and 12:10 distinguish two responses: the wise grow in understanding of God’s Word and ways....the wicked continue in wickedness and remain blind. The call is to pursue genuine biblical wisdom rather than merely accumulating data or following the latest narrative. Purification is happening Verse 10 says many will be purified, made white, and refined. Hard times expose and refine true faith. Cultural pressure, technological distraction, and hostility toward Christian conviction are already separating superficial profession from genuine allegiance. The wise respond by clinging more tightly to Scripture and to Christ. Our task is clear....understand, endure, and turn others to righteousness We are not called to calculate exact dates (Daniel himself was told the words were sealed and to go his way). We are called to live as those whose names are written in the book, to shine by pointing others to the righteousness that comes through faith in the Messiah who we now know is Jesus and to wait with patient endurance. The blessing is promised to those who “wait and reach” the end of the appointed time. Resurrection hope anchors everything. In a culture that often denies final judgment or reduces life to the present moment....Daniel 12 reminds us that death is not the end. There is everlasting life and everlasting contempt. This hope frees us from despair and from living only for temporary security or approval.

There is coming a time of unprecedented trouble and deliverance God’s people face a final, unmatched crisis, yet they are delivered. The “time of trouble such as never was” is echoed by Jesus in Matthew 24:21. Michael (the archangel who contends for God’s people) arises. Deliverance is not based on national identity or strength but on having one’s name written in the book.... Revelation 20:12, 15; Luke 10:20). There will be a resurrection The resurrection is certain and divides humanity permanently. This is one of the clearest Old Testament statements of bodily resurrection and final judgment. Some rise to everlasting life; others to everlasting contempt. History does not end in endless cycles or mere annihilation; it ends in personal accountability before God. The reward of the wise Wisdom and evangelism are eternally rewarded. Those who gain understanding of God’s ways and lead others into righteousness shine forever. Faithfulness in the present age has cosmic, lasting significance. Prophecy is sealed until the appointed time, then knowledge increases. Daniel is told to seal the book. Full clarity belongs to “the time of the end.” Two common understandings of “many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase” There is a measured period of intense pressure, followed by blessing for those who endure. The 3½ times, 1,290 days, and 1,335 days point to a limited, God-ordained duration of crisis (often linked with the second half of the final seven-year period in broader Daniel and Revelation frameworks). The call is to wait and remain faithful. “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
