Rafah border is completely sealed now. Friends have evacuated from Rafah to Deir Elbalah. 700, 000 refugees from Rafah to Khan Younis rubble where there's no water supply at all. Israel is bombing everywhere.

Russian forces struck out towards Kharkov over the weekend, slicing up the Ukrainian troops with relative ease, judging by battlefield chatter. Kiev is pulling reserves from Kherson and the Donbass to plug the breach — meaning that we should expect Russian operations there to intensify in the coming days. Don't look for big arrows — this is no longer that kind of war, not with drones that can see just about every move and reach all sorts of places. This is now a steamroller/hydraulic press type of strategy. The appointment of Andrey Belousov as new defense minister seems indicative of just such an approach. The Kremlin is playing an RTS game (if you know, you know) and wants someone who can handle the resource management phase really well. As for Shoigu, he's basically received a sinecure on the Security Council — same place Medvedev gets to sh*tpost from — so it's not really a demotion. Watch for Patrushev and if/where he resurfaces.

MAIN POINTS ON PUTIN’S SUNDAY RESHUFFLING OF POSITIONS IN RUSSIAN GOV SECTORS ☑️ Putin proposed appointing Andrei Belousov as the Minister of Defense of Russia; in the previous government, Belousov was the first deputy prime minister. ☑️ Shoigu, who headed the Ministry of Defense, was appointed secretary of the Russian Security Council; also, as Peskov said, he will oversee the work of the FSMTC and will become deputy president in the commission on the military-industrial complex. ☑️ In the Kremlin, the reshuffle in the Ministry of Defense was explained by Putin’s decision on the need to appoint a civilian - “the department should be open to innovation and advanced ideas.” ☑️ In addition, Peskov noted that it is very important to fit the economy of the power bloc into the country’s economy so that it corresponds to the dynamics. ☑️ Patrushev has been relieved of his post as Secretary of the Security Council; the Kremlin promises to announce his new job later. ☑️ Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov will continue to work at his post. ☑️ The heads of other law enforcement agencies - the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the FSB and the Russian National Guard - will retain their posts if the Federation Council agrees, without changes.

⚡️ Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the statements by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk 💬 We have took note of the press release of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) published on May 7 with the assessments of its head Volker Türk regarding the situation of journalists in Russia. The High Commissioner’s activity has long lacked objectivity and impartiality required by UN General Assembly Resolution 48/141, however this time the degree of his statements’ political bias is really outrageous and inappropriately arrogant. In defiance of his mandate Volker Türk allowed himself utterly politicized, biased and lopsided interpretations of the situation in the media pluralism and free access to information in our country, and did not shy away from gross distortions, misrepresentations and unsubstantiated accusations. In his ill-concealed desire to follow in the wake of the Collective West’s anti-Russian rhetoric that international official broke out with a libel that has nothing to do with the real situation. And at that the High Commissioner has never showed such zeal in dealing with mass evidence of oppressions against Russian and Russian-language media in the West, reprisals against undesirable reporters in the Baltic countries and Moldova, cruel crimes and terrorist acts by Kiev regime against Russian journalists, public figures and publicists. We have yet to see a substantive response to any of our numerous appeals to Volker Türk regarding these gross violations, which just fuel our suspicions about the bias of his conduct and complete loss of basic ideas of good faith in implementing his mandate as the above UN General Assembly resolution requires. ❗️ We reject point blank the High Commissioner’s statements both in form and in substance. We insist on his strict compliance with all the requirements for an international official of such level, primarily in terms of impartiality and objectivity. We are calling on him to appropriately respond to all crimes and violations with respect to media and journalists regularly reported to him, including by the Russian side.

Israeli army carries out random killings, new forced displacement campaign in Gaza City’s Zaytoun neighbourhood Palestinian Territory - As part of its ongoing military operation in Gaza City, the Israeli army carried out a second day of random killings in the city’s southeastern Zaytoun neighbourhood. Israel’s clear aim is to impose a new forced displacement campaign, destroying Gaza City and the Gaza Strip’s northern region, and evacuating its residents. The Israeli army conducted its second military operation in less than three months in the Zaytoun neighbourhood. Amid heavy Israeli air and artillery attacks, a military ground incursion, the forced evacuation of hundreds of families, and the bombing of residential squares, Palestinians in the area are struggling to survive. Israeli forces gave new orders for people to leave areas in Rafah on Saturday as it prepared to expand its military operation in the city despite warnings from the international community. Around 300,000 people have left eastern Rafah in the south of Gaza for a "humanitarian area in Al-Mawasai", following orders on Monday to leave, according to an Israeli military statement. Israeli forces issued the order and captured the Rafah border crossing with Egypt as it prepared for a ground invasion of the city, while on Saturday it gave orders for more departures in eastern Rafah and northern Gaza.

🇪🇺🇩🇪 Revision of World War II in the West: Russophobia and Revanchism ⭐️ In 2024 we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Red Army's liberation of the territories of the USSR and the countries of Eastern Europe from Hitler's occupation. In 1944, the Soviet Union made a decisive contribution that led to a turning point in World War II and laid the groundwork for peaceful life in today's EU. Today, however, the West, represented by its hegemon USA, NATO and their American satellites in the EU, is waging a new hybrid war against Russia, using neo-Nazi Ukraine, as well as Baltic and other European neo-Nazi and extremists. Like Hitler 80 years ago, the leaders of the West rely on the ideas of Russophobia, Eurocentrism, Westernization, the superiority of "progressive" Westerners over "backward" Russians, etc. Zelensky's Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime directly reproduces the ideas, methods and even symbolism of National Socialism, adapting them to Ukrainian realities. The revision of the results of the World War II, the attempt of historical both revenge and "cancelation" of the results of 1945, gained with much effort by Russia-USSR, is a characteristic feature of the new hybrid war unleashed by the West against Russia. On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Russian World over Nazism, Europe is once again thriving on totalitarianism, and the collective West is waging a new aggression under almost the same slogans. One of the main goals of the West's information war against Russia is to undermine the patriotic image and legacy of the Great Victory, the identification of Nazism and Communism, Hitler and Stalin, and the downgrading of the USSR's contribution to the liberation of humanity from Nazism. The example of Zelensky's Ukrainian Nazi regime shows to what kind of catastrophe Revanchism and Russophobia can lead - sharing the fate of defeated and destroyed Hitler's Germany in May 1945. 🇷🇺 Follow!

As the Venezuelan Ambassador, HE Jose Biomorgi, said at the “Future of the region” conference in Damascus on the 9th April - we (the Resistance Axis) must never underestimate the enemy, their cohesion and their tremendous resources. (Paraphrase). At the same conference, Iconic Syrian Catholic Priest, Pere Elias Zahlaoui (a profoundly spiritual and humble man) told me that the terrible sacrifice made by the Palestinian people will awaken the world and bring about huge transformation for Humanity - we are at a crossroads and the West is fighting for survival. This is when it is at its most dangerous and Machiavellian. https://beeley.substack.com/p/gaza-2035-netanyahus-dystopian-vision

Stalin's Address to the Soviet People on May 9, 1945. The sheer volume of analogies between past events and the present is striking. Yet, in today's context, NATO has taken the place of Hitler's Germany. "<...> Three years ago, Hitler publicly declared that his objectives included the dismemberment of the Soviet Union and the severance of the Caucasus, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics, and other regions from it. He directly stated, "We will destroy Russia so that it can never rise again." That was three years ago. But Hitler's mad ideas were not destined to come true—the course of the war scattered them to the winds. In reality, the exact opposite of what the Nazis had fantasized about occurred. Germany is utterly defeated. German forces are surrendering. The Soviet Union is celebrating victory, although it has no intention of either dismembering or destroying Germany. <...>" Hitler's speeches 80+ years ago are exactly the same as the modern statements of European and American officials.

Highlights of today’s festivities. Started with snow ended with sun. The weather’s been insane. Victory Day is special to all against fascism. But it must be recognized that without the USSR & Russia 🇷🇺we’d be in a different position. Even so, it’s sad to say the fight continues.

Some scenes from Victory Day in Moscow today. (One day I'll make it to Red Square during the parade, I hope!) Park Pobedy was packed today. My assumption that maybe the crowds had dwindled since the display of NATO garbage opened there...was wrong. Even close to 5 pm, people were streaming towards the park, and meanwhile the lines to see failed NATO machines were impressively long (well done Russians!). See this post for closer views of the junk the West lost.

#DateInHistory 📅 On this day, 79 years ago, on May 9, 1945, the bloodiest and most terrible military conflict in the history of Russia - the Great Patriotic War - ended. 🎗 For almost four years of bloody battles, the Red Army troops withstood the pressure of the German military machine and its allies. At the cost of heavy losses, they drove the enemy from the territory of the Soviet Union and forced Nazi Germany to surrender. 🕊 About 27 million people, including Red Army soldiers, partisans, and civilians of the country, sacrificed their lives for the freedom not only of their Fatherland but also of the entire world from the ideology of Nazism.
