Two anniversaries, and some thoughts.
Yesterday was a year since Charlie Kirk was murdered while trying to debate woke college students in Utah. Had this happened to a Democrat, they would have rounded up everyone they could and maybe even declared martial law (just look at their reaction to the January 6 protest in 2021; full Reichstag Fire!). As it is, the Republicans opted to be nice and fight amongst themselves instead. As a result, the most demented woke goblins now believe they can act with total impunity.
America did something similar after 9/11, 25 years ago today. Bush the Lesser immediately declared "Islam is a religion of peace" (huh?) and instead of going after the actual jihadists used the shock to launch the neocon project of reordering the Middle East. And then decided to Make the World Safe for Liberal Democracy and educate Afghan women in gender studies or whatnot. Needless to say, what we got was ISIS, and now the Taliban are back in charge in Kabul, while Al Qaeda runs Syria.
Heckuva job, everyone!
I literally warned the very first week — before anyone had mentioned Saddam Hussein — that the "War on terror" was a scam because the US showed no sign of fighting against its pet terrorists in the Balkans. I say this not to boast about being right, but because it should have been obvious back then.
A whole lot of people craved power above all, however, and here we are.
| 2 | This time it’s different, I stand corrected. Russia is not buying cheap tricks and is continuing to do what needs doing while paying lip service to talks.
For the first time I have heard Lavrov articulate what’s been obvious for quite some time: 404 in its current form cannot continue.
There’s a nice “cauldron” north of Kharkov with at least one OSU brigade trapped inside. Strikes on ports, ships and warehouses are unrelenting. A relic of Holy Prince Dmitry Donskoy has been sent to the front. All of this points to the gloves being off.
Good. About time. | 561 |
| 3 | Here we go, a three-day pause on bombing Kiev. Back to the same old tricks. Pity. | 799 |
| 4 | Timeo Americanos et dona ferentes.
There is nothing Witkoff and Kushner can bring to Moscow that would be useful for ending the SMO, unless it's terms of America's de facto surrender on Project Ukraine. That means no Starlink, no Palantir, no "private companies" selling drone components, and lifting sanctions. That won't happen.
Nor do they have leverage to demand anything of Russia. Putin owes them nothing, especially not after Anchorage, which turned out to be yet another effort to buy time for 404 to come up with more "wunderwaffe" and "victory plans" and "long-range sanctions strikes" or whatever the coked-out actor comes up with next.
Right on schedule, when 404 is facing ruin, the Americans show up with another "peace proposal" that they expect the Russians to waste months analyzing and running through procedures and channels, while backing off on the front to be "nice".
Not to be Cassandra or Laocoon, but it's a giant wooden horse, guys. Don't bring it in. | 741 |
| 5 | In America, a woman who murdered three of her children in cold blood is not going to prison because 11/12 of jurirs refused to believe she was at fault. Mistrial.
There is a deeper sickness in thr West than most of us are aware. Every society has problems but this is so self-destructive it defies comprehension.
Something’s got to give.
And the only way out is through. | 925 |
| 6 | Sometime in the past month we ended up passing the inflection point of industrial attrition warfare: Russia is constantly bombing both the 404 ports and key infrastructure and warehouses in Kiev and beyond.
This is already having an effect on the frontline, with reports of a cauldron forming in northern Kharkov and Orekhov getting practically surrounded in the south. Moreover, there is chatter about Russian recon groups tracking down 404 drone operators and eliminating them deep behind the nominal frontline. All unverified, mind you, but that's the fog of war for you.
The Estonian defense minister has just resigned over a €70 deal to buy 155mm shells from Indian scammers (literally — a company that's never produced a shell, which bought an Italian front company, and delivered unusable junk). Last month, a "state of the art" automated factory for 155mm shells in Texas shut down without having produced a single round. It appears to have been a con job by an ethnic Turk executive of General Dynamics, who subcontracted a company run by his co-ethnics. He has since retired with a golden parachute, of course.
The EUroreich and the American Empire can talk GDP all they want. They can no longer produce what is needed for a modern war in the industrial quantities required. The only thing they can crank out is propaganda — which explains why they're leaning into the cognitive war so hard, and threatening terrorism.
In other words, the globalist empire is on the run. The worst thing to do at this point is to get squeamish and show misplaced mercy. | 775 |
| 7 | As for Ratko Mladic, I’ll just say that the people in the West accusing him of atrocities will beg for a Mladic of their own in their hour of need. But they won’t deserve one and won’t get one. | 903 |
| 8 | CIA chief’s trip to Moscow was not about some made-up 404 propaganda, be serious. For all I know, he told the Russians the US won’t interfere with the smiting of the Yookay.
And if he didn’t, the Russians should have said he did anyway. Because cognitive warfare. | 884 |
| 10 | One more thing before I go. I just had to "fix" this:
"Of course, severing diplomatic relations would be entirely merited by the Yookay's actions, but being the responsible adults, we have chosen not to do so at this time. Once again, the British media have deceived the public with baseless speculation. Do better."
PS: You're welcome! | 937 |
| 11 | Taking some time off for sanity.
Keep calm and carry on the SMO. | 904 |
| 12 | Russia's Black Sea blockade campaign is obviously working, since 404 is desperately throwing every V-1 drone it has at Moscow. With about as much military impact as the 1944 campaign they're copying.
It's becoming obvious that the 404 isn't really the problem here, and maybe never was. The hand underneath the bloodied puppet (or the one pulling the strings, whichever visual you prefer) is. And that hand isn't going to be deterred by 404's destruction; that's been priced in, so to speak.
The question then becomes, how to deal with them? This substack piece, recommended to me by a friend, lays out the problem with Russia's approach so far, and even offers some ideas.
One of the trickiest things in war is to be ruthless enough to do what must be done, while maintaining enough decency not to become a monster you're fighting against. Because excessive niceness to the enemy is all to often just cruelty to your own side. | 1 242 |
| 13 | Japan sperging out over the Kuril Islands is a symptom of a greater problem.
Japan took these islands and Sakhalin as spoils of war in 1905, after defeating Imperial Russia, just as they had seized Korea and Taiwan from China in 1895. All those lands were given up in 1945, after Tokyo capitulated to the Allies.
While it was the Soviets who broke the back of the Japanese army in Manchuria, the US got to occupy the Home Islands after dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Douglas MacArthur got to be the de facto viceroy of Japan for years, the Americans wrote the Japanese constitution, and basically reprogrammed the entire country’s thinking for decades to come. The programming has been so successful, to this day the Japanese don’t even dare mention who nuked them.
Tokyo never makes claims to Taiwan, or Korea (North or South), even though it ruled them longer than the Kurils. Maybe because doing so would draw the ire of Americans? But it has no problem with disputing Russian territory. That’s seen as “safe.”
That right there is the problem. Not so much the brainwashing of Japan, but the perception that it is safe and acceptable to dispute Russian territory, because Moscow is too nice.
For a brief spell after 2008, nobody actually thought this, due to the swiftness and ferocity of the Russian victory over Saakashvili’s regime in Tbilisi. Arguably, that’s why the Maidan was engineered, to avoid the direct confrontation with Russia and instead subvert it through “democratic” Ukrainian nationalism.
That gambit backfired when Russia took action in Crimea and the Donbass rebellion kicked off, so the West reverted (literally) to the Yugoslav script of the 1990s. Only at this point did Ukraine became a proxy war trap.
While reasonable people perceive the SMO as proof that one should absolutely not mess with Russia because it will systematically dismantle your economy, industry, army and eventually statehood, Moscow is still perceived as too nice, unwilling to slap the NATO hand clearly visible out from under the bloodied Ukrainian meat-puppet.
This perception may not be the problem, but it is a problem, urgently in need of fixing. | 1 568 |
| 15 | This means we will soon see the VMF capturing some Westoid ships on the high seas, right?
... Right? | 713 |
| 16 | 🧿 The next Substack is out.
Anyone else remember when Jolani (aka Al Sharaa, the former head-chopping head of ISIL) came to Moscow to visit Putin, and his terrorist generals got tours from the Russian General Staff? Not sure if that is worse or better than hosting Zelenski.

| 17 | Here’s a Serbian take on the Vucic-Zelensky controversy and the Russian reaction. The Serbs as a general rule shoot from the hip while the Russians go through elaborate procedures. What we have here is an interesting exception. | 760 |
| 18 | I don't know, maybe there can't be peace in Europe until Germany is reset to factory settings (i.e. pre-1871). | 964 |
| 19 | "Tell us, Europeans, what can we do to help you kill more Russians?"
This isn't a scene from a Hollywood movie. This is German journalist Michael Martens of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung asking Zelensky how Europeans can help him kill more Russians, at a joint press conference. Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić couldn't even hide his astonishment.
I am not often at a loss for words. This is one of those rare times.
Unfuckingreal.
😡 | 917 |
| 20 | Aleksandar Vucic, the president of Serbia, just hosted Vladimir Zelensky of 404 in Belgrade. The Serbian public is generally disgusted, and the whole thing is being dragged into domestic political disputes. Vucic's Progressives now insist that they love Russia but having Zelensky over isn't hostile to Moscow (LOL), while their detractors — who normally genuflect before Brussels — suddenly pretend they like Russia now.
It's uncanny, how friend/enemy distinction overrides everything else. If only it could be applied externally...
Rather than offer any kind of divination of what Zelensky's visit might have meant, I will tell you this: within hours of his departure, Vucic was visiting a rural church in Vojvodina. Make of that what you will. | 887 |
