Recurring Doubt: Many students are inquiring about the study plan for the 2027/2028 examination cycle. It is recommended that all students review the detailed plan videos created by Shivin sir or Satyam Jain sir for free on youtube. I largely adhered to their plans, which are effective for maintaining alignment with the requirements of the examination. However, please note the following: 1. Do not adhere too rigidly to these plans; they should be viewed as guidelines rather than fixed roadmaps. 2. A robust plan must account for individual strengths and weaknesses, as well as other responsibilities such as family and employment, and personal preferences. Consequently, you are the most qualified strategist for your own preparation. You may review the aforementioned plans and subsequently integrate your own specific elements.

📌 EXAM DAY & BETWEEN-PAPER STRATEGY (What to Keep in Mind) One thing that helped me was visiting the exam centre one day before. If possible, you should do that too. It helps you understand the location, the route, and even identify a spot nearby where you can sit during the break. Also, I’ve seen people reach late and not being allowed to enter the exam centre. Don’t be that person. I know it feels like “kaun late hota hai,” but on exam day, unexpected things can happen. So plan in a way that nothing goes wrong on that day. In the Exam-Hall: Don’t dwell on a particular question for too long. Your first aim should be to complete the entire paper once. While doing that, keep marking questions smartly. Underline or circle parts that you find tricky. Mark the questions you are skipping. You can create your own system of symbols — for example, circling questions you are unsure about, or using different signs to indicate 50-50 situations. Also, underline tricky parts while reading. UPSC often gives “NOT” type questions (which of the following is not correct). Be very careful with these. Underline or circle such words so that your attention stays there. Between the two papers, relax. If possible, move a little away from the exam centre to avoid the crowd and noise. If you want to revise, you can maybe revise formulas. But honestly, the best thing is to do nothing, just relax. Eat something light, what you usually eat. Don’t experiment. Don’t overeat. Keep everything pre-decided. After Paper 1, do not check answer keys, this is extremely important. I made this mistake in 2023. Coaching keys were conflicting, especially for tricky questions, and I ended up doubting correct answers. UPSC takes months to design the paper, discrepancies are natural. But checking keys in between papers only destroys your mental space for CSAT. Once GS Paper 1 is done, let it go completely. What’s submitted is submitted. Checking answers doesn’t change your score, it only fuels anxiety. Your mind will naturally focus on doubtful questions and spiral into thinking everything went wrong. Protect your mental clarity for Paper 2.

Message for Aspirants Now that the paper anxiety has settled down, it is time to start preparing for Mains. For those who are comfortably scoring well in Prelims: there is no more time to waste. Revise and start answer writing immediately. For those who are scoring on the lower side: keep in mind that the cut-off may be low. More importantly, irrespective of the result, start Mains preparation right away. One of the best decisions I made after narrowly missing the CSAT cut-off in 2023 was to prepare for Mains as if I had already cleared Prelims. That mindset helped me immensely. The Mains preparation timeline should be the same for those who are comfortably clearing Prelims and those who are uncertain about their scores. What should you do now? 1. Finish the subjects you may have left untouched or partially covered — Governance, Society, Ethics, etc. 2. Optional ko Ragad do : Revise, revise, and revise. 3. Start answer writing and, more importantly, answer analysis — through peer review, mentor/evaluator feedback, or self-assessment. 4. Begin test series if you haven’t already. The following worked well for me: A. Commerce Optional: Rankers Classes (Daily + Sectional Tests) — found them very helpful. B. GS: Forum MGP — closest to UPSC standards in my experience. C. Ethics: Programs by Peeyush Sir and Vikas Dhayal (MIG). Each day counts All the best.
