Good evening sir, My NPCIL interview experience - 10/06/23 - Narora My interview was just before lunch. There were 7 members in the panel seated 4 on the right side of the table and 3 on the other. The questions were asked from right side members only. And the 3 members were only noting down continuously from my entry to exit. They started asking about me, my family and college etc etc. I am from AMU so they asked that it is a good University you must be placed somewhere, I denied and gave them an explanation as in 2020 CAA NRC protest was going on there and also corona hit the country. After this they asked if my btech project was completed or not. After this they asked if I was doing any job or not. Then they asked me to tell the subjects which I have studied for the interview. I told Thermo, SOM, FM and HT. *Questions* 1. What do you know about power plants? (I told them about the GT plant ) 2. Is there any other type of powerplant? Answered Rankine. 3. Then they asked me to go on board and draw the brayton cycle. 4. How the efficiency of it be increased? Told all modifications with reasons. (as told by you 🙏🏻🤩) 5. Draw the Rankine cycle and tell the difference between Carnot and Rankine cycle and why we prefer Rankine cycle over Carnot cycle in power plant? 6. Also asked the same modifications as in the GT cycle. i.e. to increase efficiency. 7. Given a diagram of shaft with 3 pulley/gear on it. And asked if driven with center pulley/gear what would be TMD. I told them I won't be able to draw because I need one more data. i.e. data for at least 1 extreme pulley. They gave data for all. I drew TMD, then they asked if the shaft is under utilised as 100W power given at mid and is not delivered 100W completely.(I denied and told them that the total power in and out are same hence it is utilising power completely, though torque is not same throughout. Because by torque we can identify the critical section of the shaft and design accordingly.) 8. If you are given two identical balls with the same surface finish how will you distinguish between them, if one is of cast iron and the other is stainless steel. (After thinking a lot I answered them, by magnet). Then they modified the question and asked if the ball is of mild steel instead of SS. Then? I answered, by sound test. They weren't satisfied and asked about properties of material. Then asked again to distinguish. (They wanted to listen - by the hardness test.) 9. How to locate center of shaft? (I answered locating center of circles by radii-tangent method) They asked another method.(I answered, by wrapping a thread over it and measuring it and equating it to 2πr, radius will be known and by arcs equal to radius center can be located) 10. How to reduce the dia of a shaft from 75 mm to 72 mm and how will you tell your worker? (I started telling turning process) They stopped and told me that I don't have to do the operation, I have to convey it to the worker and moreover the shaft is not exactly circular. Its dia is varying from 74-76 mm. (I drew both drawings and told them that I don't know the exact procedure to convey ( i.e. the drawing notations) but I will give instructions in writing.) They were more or less looked satisfied and asked me to leave the board and be seated. Then they asked _will I be able to work anywhere or any site preferences_ ? ( _This question they asked everyone that day_ ) Then they asked me to leave and when I picked up my portfolio then they asked me to touch the bell and tell which is colder and why? (I answered, our fingers feel/sense the HT rate and as the bell is made of metal and has a higher HT rate than plastic/leather.) That's all and I left the interview room.

I said awesome mam 😂 , accha se btaya Kyu? Kahi aur ho gaya .. Ok Why ESE? I explained.. Member 1 - Tell me some heat treatment process.. I named.. What is types of annealing.. I explained.. What is spheriodise annealing.. I explained. Can u do hardening on low carbon steel? I strictly denied.. Show me on TTT diagram, I showed but I was not able to tell what he wanted to listen.. He gave me a hint.. Kya ye TTT diagram mein kuch badlega then I explained..yes kya hoga bola yahi hai.. I said ok. What is martensite.. Memebr2 - krishna tell me one thing.. CI engine mein spark plug kyu use nahi karte.. Told them.. - what's flywheel? What's Governor..? Memebr3- tell me about 3 d printing.. I told .. Tell me can I make intricate shape.. I told.. Tell me the classification of composite materials.. I told.. Ek bat btao hathi ke barabar load mujhe bear karna hai toh kya kya hona chahiye material mein.. I told huge comreosssive strength honi chahiye mai aur accha se keh sakta tha ki stiffness wagera ka but dimaag mein aa nahi raha tha .. Accha ye btao kya hum composite materials se bana sakte hai ye .. Maine kaha yes sir.. Phir bola what is advantage of 3d printing.. I told 2 usne kaha ek toh chalo common hai maine bola yes sir.. Name some 3d printing process.. I told.. Last mein bola accha what is scheduling.. Mai routing se confuse hua toh bola sir can I take a moment then I told the right one ki kab kya start hoga basically sabhi ka timing... Ek sawal Pooncha tha jisse sorry kaha maine.. My name Abhishek Maddeshiya Completed my b.tech from a private college in gaziabad in 2021 after that I joined made easy in 2021 delhi C batch and due to second wave of COVID offline classes is closed and it affected prepration also but after 2 - 3 months online+ offline classes started and prepration going on made easy provided a base to me avg student and given gate 22 exam and just qualify with 7000+ rank really disappointing uske baad phir restart Kiya mock + revision pr focus Kiya sath sath me other exam psu ki bhi taiyree kartaa tha 2022 me hpcl exam huaa usme Mera written ho gyaa lekin interview out 2023 gate exam not up to good rank got 1191 rank Cleared BARC written interview out NPCIL interview out IOCL interview out HAL written out by 1 marks Really disappointing but my parents/brother always support me to keep going Then SSC JE 2023 exam Pre 148.25 (technical 95 correct/100 question) Mains - 264 marks Finally selected in SSC JE 2023 CWC with AIR 122 Still prepration going on 24 gate/ese exam One thing is learning that if you have willing to go forward despite of failure God will always support THANK YOU

Sir, I'm Abhishek singh, I graduated in 2020, I started preparation in 2019 with 3 year but due to hectic college schedule I'm not able to complete my revision and workbooks, And that's why I'm not even qualify gate in 2020, Since I always dreamt for psu , Then again after end of my graduation I started preparation for gate in lockdown period, But at the parallel I also started preparation for ATC and HPCL exams but I miss both exam with 6 no and 10 no margin, Because in 2021 my fathers lungs get infected during covid so I'm not able to touch my book for one and half month, Also that time my gate was bad,i secured 3800 rank, Then after a lot failure from past year from (ie 2 times gate,2 time barc,cil,ATC ,hpcl,ib), But as I mentioned I dreamt psu, Again I start preparation and this time I focussed with all my potential,and then after 8 months of hardwork,my exams are started to scheduled , My first exam was hpcl on 4th nov 2022, but 15 days before exam I met on major accident and my legs get fractured and doctor suggested me to be on cast for 2 month, I get devastated,and I'm not in zone to decide i would I do,i am extremely disappointed,but with lots of guts i decided to give exam, And coz my dedication i cleared the hpcl exams cbt ,gd and interview and currently I'm working in HPCL as a operation officer. At the same time I secured 1600 rank in gate and I have npcil interview whose result is about to come,and I also got the admission in IIT Kharagpur in design, Apka assirvaad chaiye aage ke liye,

Where the viberation is useful I replied in mobile phone, body masaazer. More example they want.. the give me hint that in the construction site- I replied viberator. They ask how. I replied air bubble jobtrapped hote h use viberation ke help se nikalte h. Ic- engine: cycle of petrol and diesel engine- SI engine me spark kaha hota h.. diagram me dikhane ke liye bole. SI me petrol ko hi kyon use krte h? Hydraulic machine- Types of pump. Pump niche kyon lagate h? Centrifugal pump ka head kitna hota h? Human body me pump kha hota. And koun sa pump hota h.. Mai bahut nervous ho gya tha galti se centrifugal pump bola gya.. the all are laughing.. phir maine apni galti swikari. Case study question- suppose aapke friend ko ek urgent kaam aa gya h.. wo aapko bola krne ke liye aur aap free ho to aap kr doge... mai bola ki agar department same hua aur mai agar us kaam ko janta hoon.. to agarsenior mujhe written form me dete h to mai kr dunga nhi to mai nhin karunga.. Phir bole ki uska ghar ka kaam h aur aapke ghar me bhi kaam h. To mai bola ki mai uska kaam kr dunga and mere ghar ka kaam mera bhao sambhal lega.. phir bole ki agar aapki saadi h to aap kaise kijiye.. apna saadi chhorkr.. maine bola ki agar is tarah ka situation aayega to phli baat mera dost mujhse bolega bhi nhi krne ko... aur wo dost khud mere saadi me hoga...uske baad mai koi aur intezam kr dunga agar kaam ka seriousness jyada hoga tb... Then they ask.. kisi bhi location me job kr loge? Maine bola yes maam. Then they ask day or night.. maine bola ki kv bhi mai kr skta hoon.. then she ask frequntly kv raat me kv din me bina kisi fix time pr... maine bola ki mai kar dunga but wo efficiency nhi rhega jo fix time pr ek general employee ka hoga. Lastly the offer me chhanchh... mujhe pata hi nahi chal rha tha mai accept kru ya nhi.. lastly mai le liya aur ek acche se smile dekr thanks for this kha... uske baad unhone jane ke liye bola... About 60 se70% ka jawab diya. Nevousness level mera peak pr tha 10% answer aur de skte the jo ki hm nervous me bhul gye..... nikalne ke baad mera haath kapkapa rha tha laghbhag 5 min tk..

What is bearing and why it is used?. Difference between anti friction bearing and journal bearing.How will you select one of them, means on what basis it will be decided. 5. Types of gear and draw it roughly.For less vibration which gear should we use and what is the gear ratio used in worm and worm wheel .Draw schematic diagram. 6. Difference between Brayton cycle and rankine cycle. Which cycle have better efficiency?.what will approximately value in percentage 7. Use of flywheel.Why it is used ( show by graph too) If you don't want use a flywheel what will be your approach.How many max cylinders in engine you have seen? 8. Suppose you are running diesel engine car and car stopped.What will be your approach to find issue in engine. 9. What you will prefer during buying a car power or torque? 10.Supercharger and turbocharger are same or not?? And how turbocharger works. 11.
