Useful for interview Oil Zapper offers an innovative bioremediation solution that degrades crude oil and oily sludge using a specialised combination of bacteria. The Oil Zapper is significant in ensuring sustainability while rehabilitating contaminated environments, thus minimizing damage to the ecosystem and fostering healthy ecosystems. This article works towards studying in great detail how Oil Zapper works, the benefits, and the applications to the correct oil spill problem. What is Oil Zapper?  Oil Zapper is an innovative bioremediation technology aimed at alleviating the environmental threat of oil spills in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.  Against the backdrop of growing urgency for cleanup, Oil Zapper utilizes a consortium of so-called Application-Selected bacterial strains that are capable of degradation of different fractions of crude oil and oily sludge.  The technology is targeted at providing a sustainable and efficient manner for site restoration that is minimising ecological damage and fostering environmental recovery. Effectiveness of Oil Zapper The Oil Zapper works by a unique mixture of four bacterial strains. These bacterial strains get chosen due to their ability to degrade different fractions of crude oil, including. Aliphatic Hydrocarbons: Straight or branched-chain hydrocarbons are abundant in crude oil. These bacteria degrade these compounds into less harmful ones. Aromatic Hydrocarbons: These compounds with complex ring structures are often more difficult to degrade. The bacterial strains used in Oil Zapper have enzymes that break down these compounds. Asphaltenes: These heavy fractions of crude oil are rather stable and resistant to degradation. The bacterial consortium includes strains which can modify and degrade asphaltenes into less polymerized intermediates towards biodegradation. NSO Compounds: Compounds with nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen are also found in crude oil and oily sludge. The bacterial strains degrade these compounds causing accumulation of toxic substances in the environment. Advantages of Oil Zapper The advantages of utilising Oil Zapper for bioremediation are numerous: Less expensive for treatment makes the larger-scale implementation of Oil Zapper cheaper than traditional cleanup methods. The cost of oily sludge treatment is roughly one-third that of standard methods, where standard ones compromise on making their own contaminated wastes in pits. In Situ Application: Oil Zapper can be applied wherever contamination occurs and thus avoids the need to transport heavy shipments of hazardous wastes. This saves risks to human health and environmental hazards that such transfers would otherwise bear. Safe End Products: The biodegradation of oily sludge results in conversion into harmless byproducts mainly carbon dioxide and water. In adversity of incomplete degradation, the fatty acids formed shall be harmless; none of them generate secondary pollutants. Soil Restoration: Remediated sites return to their original state, willing not be charred or nutritionally depleted in land. With the addition of mycorrhizal bio-fertilizers, the soil from treated land can be enriched for further revitalization. Environmental and Economic Benefits: By cleaning contaminated land, Oil Zapper enhances environmental quality, making treated areas suitable for various uses such as agriculture, housing, and reforestation. Job Creation: The implementation of Oil Zapper technology has generated numerous employment opportunities in India and beyond, contributing to economic growth. Problem of Oil Spills Environmental Impact: Oil spills pose some of the greatest threats to marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Oil, whether deliberately discharged, released by accident from leaks, or jarring losses during transportation, grieves local habitats. Crude oil forms an oil slick over the surface of water bodies, contaminating aquatic life by coating birds’ feathers, fish gills, and the surfaces of marine plants, interfering with their functions and natural behaviors, including reproductive cycles.

Hello Sir, I'm Geetanjali Kapil from Made easy Prime GATE-ESE 2023 batch. I got selected as Patent Examiner this year and just got the joining letter. I didn't hear about this exam before when I was preparing. But when the notification came, I filled out the application. The exam consists of 3 stages- 1. Prelims 2. Mains 3. Interview In Prelims there are several sections for GK, Aptitude, Reasoning and IP (Intellectual Property), Science and Tech. I'm not sure about science and tech but there were 5 sections in total. Then in Mains, there were 2 papers. First one was aptitude and IP, which was objective, and second one was subjective which was branch specific. Interview was conducted in Delhi. There were 2 panels for Mechanical. I got the 2nd one. There were 3 panel members. As the interview was in April, I don't remember much. But the questions were application based mostly from the technical part and some regarding Intellectual Property. I got selected in NPCIL, OIL India and Patent this year. So, I decided to go for this. Finally after a long wait, the joining has come. Thank you Sir for ur time and efforts you devote for us students. We are definitely grateful to have a teacher like you.🙏😇

So, let's start from the beginning. When I was in 11th and 12th class, I wanted to join IIT. I prepared for the IIT JEE exam for two years but could not achieve a good rank. Despite all my hard work, I attempted the exam again, but the result remained the same. Despite performing very well in coaching classes and tests, I couldn’t secure a good rank this year either. In the meantime, due to my proficiency in mathematics, I always wanted to join the Indian Statistical Institute's BMath course. However, I forgot to fill out the form by mistake in 2017. Instead, I appeared for BCECE (Entrance exam for admission to Bihar state government colleges) where I secured the 79th rank. I joined Bhagalpur College of Engineering. After joining, I forgot to focus on my studies and indulged in a lot of fun activities like bunking classes to play volleyball. Time passed swiftly during my BTech years. Now, the third year has arrived, and I realized that I need to start preparing for the GATE exam. I joined Made Easy Delhi Batch B in February 2020, but unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted our plans. By then, Som were completed, and Amrender sir had started teaching thermodynamics. Due to the pandemic, coaching had to shut down, and Made Easy provided us with online recorded lectures. However, I didn't enjoy studying in offline mode, so I decided to skip that year and keep it idle. I took the GATE exam casually and scored 26.46, which was below the cutoff marks of 33. I returned to Delhi in February 2021 again, but our classes only ran for a few days before being closed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. I had no choice but to switch to online mode. This time, I prepared rigorously. Along with completing my course, I attempted a large number of test series. Despite my hard work, I scored 42.83 marks and got a rank of 4779. I felt highly demotivated, but with encouragement from my friend, I decided to give it another shot. So, I started my preparation with renewed energy. During the preparation for GATE 2023, I attempted many exams like BARC, HAL, NMDC, and SSC JEE, but couldn't qualify for any of them. However, I didn't let the failures dishearten me, and I continued my preparation. In December 2023, I appeared for the DRDO written exam and qualified for the interview. Although the written exam went well, I got rejected in the interview. Then came GATE 2023. This time, I was confident that I would surely get a rank under 500. However, I ended up with a rank(ME) of 1339 with 51.67 marks and secured 274th rank in XE with 61.67 marks. I received a call for admission from IIT Kanpur, but I decided to join ISI Kolkata in the Qror branch. I joined ISI in August and was busy with my academic and coursework. Whenever I got time, I tried to keep in touch with mechanical engineering. After the semester break in December 2023, I had one month to prepare. I seized the opportunity, but this time, I didn't feel much pressure during the GATE paper. The day finally arrived, which I had been waiting for three years. On March 16th, I checked the result, and to my astonishment, I found out that I had secured the 241st rank.

Does Nox, SOx ionizes in electrostatic precipitator? Types of cooling tower How wet cooling tower works What is approach? M2- are you comfortable in strength of materials? Two rods of same cross section, same load is applied what will happen to stress. I answered same but he stuck on it He told cement rod and chalk rod will the stress be same in both the materials. I told yes. Then said it also depends on homogenity and isotropic nature of material. He said let's both are isotropic and homogenous, now tell. I said sorry I am not able think. You are from IITK, you should be able to think. What is stress? What is strain? What is strain rate? Stress and strain rate relation? What is strength Draw stress- strain diagram of brittle material, show it's fracture on diagram Draw stress strain diagram of brittle material under compression What is percentage elongation? What is percentage area change? What is ductility and malleability? Tell me what skills an engineer should have in today's world? Was saying soft skills, word, power point. He started saying AI, ML, softwares and 10 more. You are from IIT , you should know that So you are an athlete, have you played in nationals? Good percentage in 10th and 12th, why sudden drop in IIT What is true stress strain and engineering stress strain. If I heat a bar and fix it rigidly what kind of stress will occur on it. M3 - in the same stress- strain diagram, if the slope is 60° and 70° , which material will have high young's modulus. What is the young's modulus if the ratio of stress to strain is 1.
