Importance Of Philosophy
In the past few weeks, I have occasionally talked about the bad side of philosophy. But as we always say, every coin has 2 sides. It’s time to understand the other side.
One of the best replacement of entertainment
Many people are going to hate me for this, though it’s the Truth. Philosophy is more famous than straight forward advice because it’s entertainment for your mind. It’s not the only reason for it being famous, but it’s definitely a major reason. It simply isn’t as boring to read as a common self-help book.
Now, you can use this for your benefit. Because many of you’re addicted to self-destructive entertainment, like movies, porn, etc., it’s obviously going to be difficult to read boring ass books. But what you can do is read or listen to philosophy. You’ll gain the same knowledge, just in a little more time.
Understanding depth of knowledge
Since you were a kid, you always grasped certain information better when it’s explained through comparisons. Philosophy will do the same for you.
You might not find the “Truth”, but you’ll find a greater depth to all the self-help advice you have already read. And this is something many people don’t appreciate.
Without sufficient depth to the knowledge, you can’t act on it. Your mind won’t grasp the importance of it. But once your mind knows how important certain activity is, it’s going to be significantly easier to act.
Love towards life
If philosophy has given me something important, it’s love for life.
Everyone is so stuck in their negativity that they forget how beautiful life is. Sure, there is suffering, and there might be a better place called heaven. Yet, there’s a beauty to this life.
There is violence in everything. Among all the animals and plants. But there’s also love. And this is something philosophy can teach you perfectly. You’ll start appreciating life way more than you do now. And the same appreciation will increase your willpower.
Coming to an end, you can find various other benefits. These are the major benefits I have found. Also, philosophy isn’t the only way to gain these benefits. Of course, there will be a 1000 different ways. And there’s nothing wrong with choosing that best suits you.

Repost from Universal Insights 🧠
Conscious relationships
How to conduct yourself perfectly in a relationship is one of the subjects that peak my interests.
It's far too obvious that people fail miserably in relationships especially in the case of marriages. People move from one failure to another failure.
Relationships are a true test of your consciousness and maturity. Even sufficiently psychologically developed people would fail to truly and intimacy connect with their spouse.
One reason for this is that you come with a shit load of agendas & expectations into that marriage. They themselves don't like to work to the expectations while forcing the other to meet the expectations that you have set for them.
One fundamental thing that could make a difference is to behave like children in marriage.
Not to be childish/immature, but to bring in a sense of comfort and joy to the other instead of holding them to a standard, while also fulfilling your entrusted responsibilities.
Less "using them" vs
more enjoying *with them*.
That's a topic for another day. But even before marrying someone, or even before getting into a relationship with them, you should know everything about them.
You are literally Living with one person and having sex with one person for the rest of your life. Do not be naive fooled by oxytocin driven stupidity. (Especially to men).
Be extremely pragmatic and go into microscopic details regarding your views/expectations/past/beliefs of your partner. You should also have complete disclosure.

You shouldn't be afraid of people judging you.
After all, they're judging you on the basis of what you show them about you.
If you're so afraid, maybe you're just afraid of the Truth, not of their judgement

Never lose your purpose in life. Never.
No matter what happens. No matter how big a loss you take. No matter how worthless your efforts might feel. Never lose your purpose.
The second you lose your purpose, they'll program you.
Who are they? Everybody. The society.
They'll make you like them. They'll make you destroy yourself because "none of it matters"
And one day you'll realize, it all mattered. You'll be in deep regret
Just like songs, your life ends too. But while it goes on, it matters. Don't waste it. Don't become devoid of purpose, no matter how ridiculous your purpose is.

Here's a task I want you all to do today:
Write down what you know is right for you, and what's wrong for you. And always keep the list near you.
From now on, never let your mind rationalize or justify doing anything that you know is wrong
Doesn't matter what the situation is. The list should always be in your mind and follow it blindly. Make it your religion
In the future, you can make changes to the list as you keep learning. But for now, follow it blindly. The more blindly you follow it, the less power your mind will have to justify doing it.
PS: This helps because most of your problems exist as a result of over complication. You try to over complicate everything. By doing so, you give more power to your mind, as it can now fool you easily. But once you simplify and follow the process, it can't fool your anymore.

Be very selective about the people you spend your time with
They can quite easily manipulative your thought process and behavior
This doesn't only apply to the kind of person, but also to the gender of the person
You can indeed learn something from everyone, but also keep in mind what you can lose or what you'll become by spending time with them. Often the risk-reward is far from being in your favor

Without getting into the details, I was stuck in a bad place for a few days in April
Got into a few bad habits, and made a few bad decisions
Why? Because I let my emotions work against my emotions
And that's what a lot of you're doing every day.Your emotions aren't working alongside your thoughts. Even when you know something is wrong, your emotions are making you do it
"Oh but you can't control your emotions"
Yes, you can. I brought them back in control as well. It does take practice, but you can. And even if you fail to do so, you can at least avoid the elements that trigger your emotions.
But, never try to hide your mistake by making excuses like "You can't control your emotions", or "it's normal to be driven by your emotions"
You can't change until you stop making excuses
Look, you don't have to become insensitive. All you have to do is not let your thoughts and emotions constantly fight each other. Else you'll become a mess.

Most can't accept the Truth. It breaks their illusion.
They believe it makes them weaker. But it doesn't. it only makes you weaker in comparison to your illusive self
What it really does, is help you unleash your potential. With the Truth, you can use your actual strengths and weakness.
But with lies, you're simply hiding. You're hiding from who you are and keeping yourself from what you can achieve

To all your problems, there's 1 solutions:
Get your shit together
Build a routine. Exercise. Meditate. Read. Make money. Stop consuming entertainment all day.
Your problems will disappear. They exist now because your mind is wired. Because you don't have your shit together.
All your problems are a consequence of you not having your shit together. They have no power of their own.
Stop trying to solve them individually. You'll waste a lot of time.
As soon as you get your shit together, you won't be emotionally driven anymore. You won't be stuck in your past. You won't be anxious. You won't be worried all the time

Stop blaming the world for your problems.
Most likely, you and only you are responsible for them.

You shouldn't always need metaphors and comparisons to understand the depth of an insight.
Your life experience should provide you the depth. If it doesn't, you need to get out of your comfort zone and act, not read more philosophy.
