True or False: Singapore’s workforce learns equally, and outcomes depend mainly on individual effort. Conventional wisdom tells us one thing, but the data from our latest Skills and Learning Survey (SLS) 2 tells a more nuanced story. It reveals that more than people’s willingness to learn, what really shapes capability growth is how jobs are designed to let learning happen.  Swipe through to test what you think you know about skills, learning, and work in Singapore. Scaling a heritage brand is often less about increasing production and more about reimagining human potential. With just 10 people, Rumah Kim Choo crafts handmade Peranakan kebayas and cultural products. When demand surged, they focused on scaling their staff, transforming retail staff into cultural ambassadors, storytellers, and artisans. This shift proves small teams can build big capabilities through workplace learning. Rumah Kim Choo was among 28 organisations recognised at the Learning Enterprise Alliance (LEA) Awards 2026. Themed "Navigating Tomorrow Together," the ceremony celebrated a network of over 180 members committed to turning human capital into a sustained competitive edge through strategic collaboration. Is your organisation “skills-first”?  Real talk: A tertiary education doesn’t always tell you if someone can actually do the work they were hired to do. Moving beyond traditional job hierarchies will need a fundamental rethink of how we value our employees’ potential. The Centre for Skills-First Practices (CSFP) Working Paper 3, “Skills-First: What Does It Mean for my Organisation?” deep-dives into why the world’s most resilient companies are moving past job titles and looking at what people can actually do.  Think of skills as your business’s real currency. Are you spending yours wisely or just following an old script? Swipe through to test your “Skills-First” knowledge and see if your strategy is ready for the future of work.  Catch the full breakdown of the CSFP Working Paper 3 here:  https://tinyurl.com/CSFP-Working-Paper-3
