Hey folks, this is going to very easy to explain. If you want access to EDA v3.6, you will need to go here, sign up and consent for a background check. I have nothing to do with those checks. I am just pointing you to the same page available to the general public. I will simply be told by USEIP who passes, that's it. (If you already are in que and don't want to sign up for USEIP, you will get v3.5 already dropped on the private channel after Paul our admin contacts you). Hey folks, so in consultation with USEIP and my co-admin Paul with AFA, I will be changing the vetting procedure going forward for gaining access to future EDA drops. Those who have access currently can keep that access on the current private drop channel. I will be creating a new private drop channel for future drops including v3.6 and any changes after that. Details to follow on the procedure. Some of you may like it and others may not. I understand. I can't please everyone.

Citizen Data Analysts, here is a homework assignment. I am going to post this without comment and I am not going to reveal at this time what County this is. This is a new EDA chart I am adding for the next release. Does this look interesting? Is this a big nothing burger? Not enough data to tell? This is the absolute # registrations per day for REP and Unaffilated (UAF) Voters between 6/1/20 through 12/31/20 based on Registration data obtained in July 2021. UAF is overlayed on REP. Let's stick to the facts please. No diatribes. We are data analysts. Thank you.

Hey folks, I am honored and very excited to announce the US Election Integrity Plan (USEIP) has decided to include the EDA in their national program for election integrity. Hey folks, so I changed course on my home state analysis. I am now focusing on only the top 12 counties which cover 95%+ of the population instead of running every county. You may want to consider a similiar approach. I have put all of that through EDA plus the reg data dashboard file in about 10-15 minutes per county. My starting point was source data in Excel by county and each of those files was quite manageable in size. Now the interesting part, the analysis. Remember, the output of EDA needs to be looked at with an understanding of your local jurisdictions laws and regulations. It is not a "fraud finder". It is more like a hand held calculator. You put some good data in and out pops alot of good calculations. But, part of my hypothesis has now been proven. *One person with a spreadsheet can process an entire state's worth of data simply using copy, past, click (no programming skills) AND produce fairly sophistciated outputs in report and map format.* The second part of the hypothesis remains open. What am I going to do with all this information? Time will tell. The detailed written instructions (instead of videos) are coming to those of you on the drop channel. Definetly this week. It is a big project.

Here is some feedback from an end user : We've been working with EDA for about a week now in Missouri.  Prior to getting access to it, we had written a few different spreadsheets to gather data from 4 different months for our 116 counties into a single sheet for each county.  Then we filtered that info into registered voters that were dropped from the rolls.  Then further filtered out those that show dropped in July 2021, but that also show they had voted as of Jan 2021.  This is the file we began running through EDA. I would also like to run all of our information through EDA at some point, but for now, it has given us a lot of good info and MUCH quicker than we had been able to get by writing our own sheets. Anyway, just wanted to let you know where we're at and how we've been using the tool.  We're currently in the process of checking the walk lists created by EDA and trying to determine the counties we want to focus on. Thanks for this great tool!  We have people in our group that could have gotten to the same end result, but your tool has made it so much more streamlined and efficient, mainly due to the people like me doing the "monkey work" that have NO excel experience slowing them down!

Hey folks, I am getting some feedback from several reliable sources that indicates the use of EDA is likely to have a significant uptick in the coming 1-2 weeks. More on that later. It is clear that the ONLY way I can possibly support that uptick is to have a more robust FAQ and training video series. People will need to rely on that information and each other on how to use EDA. I won't be able to keep up with the questions in a timely manner. The good news is, the users now are giving me some great feedback on how to make the instructions more robust! If you are one of those people, now would be a great time to provide some feedback on where more instructions would be helpful. Please DM on that. If you are interested in learning how to use EDA, that material is going to get a major upgrade in the coming days to align with v3.2. I'll pin it on this channel for everyone (not there yet...). Quick Update on my case study I describe above. 👆 I have loaded and processed 20 counties. Each takes between 5-7 minutes to open the source file, create a new blank EDA file, copy the data onto the Import sheet and then click the button to run the analysis. Each analyis takes less than 2 minutes. Due to the repetition, it is apparent that I could build another tool and write a script to handle all of this with a macro. But, that will have to wait. I am going to continue with the manual steps for now. I am anticipating about 3 hours of time to run 60+ counties in a mid size state by population. That is a reaonable benchmark. This does not include combining the pivot data into a state analysis or generating the maps for each county. FYI.

There are now 42 vetted POCs on the private distribution channel. We are over 20 states. I'll have to update the map. Here is a lesson learned. Some states are easy to work with, like OH, where you can download the data anytime for free. Other people I have chatted with using EDA are really struggling with the SOS office to obatin information and when they do obtain something, it is in format that does not lend itself well to being put into Excel. Examples would be pdf's, single massive files that are so large, you can't even load them into Excel and start to filter. Some of these folks are not programmers and are stuck. Excel by default is limited to 1,048,576 rows on a sheet. In my case, someone on our team took the 9 .txt files from the SOS (reg voter lists) and ran a Python script to separate them into 60+ county .csv files. The largest .csv is 180MB and ~ 500,000 rows, for example. Maybe we could help each other here? If you are having difficulty getting your data into a format of 1MM records or less in a single excel file from what has been supplied by the SOS, post a comment. I am quite sure there are talented people who could give some direction and provide there own lessons learned. Maybe even provide you or build for you a custom script? Thanks.

I am about to embark on a very ambitious case study and run every county in my State through EDA and summarize the results in a report. The input data has been purchased and separated by county already into csv files with all the required fields. I have no idea how long this will take to a) run the all the data and create the separate EDA files or b) once I have all of the county pivots to combine those into a state summary. I am hoping this will provide some practical advice on how to use the tool that other people can learn from and be a help to your efforts. I realize using a database (if I had something configured) might be faster/easier, but that is not the point. This is called "eating your own cooking". 😁
