Dr Frank just mentioned at the cyber conference using satellite and street view to assist canvassing efforts. EDA allows you to produce those kind of maps. I guess we are on too something here.

Hey folks, I have gotten questions about why I am using basic Excel and not some other platform like MS Access, Power BI, Python, web apps, C++ etc.....I choose the most basic version of Excel for mass accessibility and decentralization of these analytics to as many people as possible with the absolute minimum amount of technical skills required to use the tool. If I had chosen a different route, I would be excluding some folks who don't have some skills or don't want to spend more money for more software. Putting this data in a web app is a bad idea (in my opinon). That said, plain old Excel has some limits. 1MM records is enough to handle any precinct and ~ 60% of the counties in the US and even a few states. If you want to do a statewide analysis of say CA or look at multiple states at the same time, than EDA is not going to work for you. Hope that answers it. Thanks.

EDA 3.0 will be dropped tomorrow. This will be transformative. 17 Advanced Excel Filters for up to 1MM records. The ability to create custom map content and walk lists based on custom search. Text fields will have up to 10 search criteria, Dates & Numbers will have =, >, < and between. Sneak peak of the new filter dashboard. Hey folks, I just can't help myself, the air quality around here is so bad, you can't go outside.....so what is there to do but add another bell and whistle to EDA? Truthfully, I started using EDA 2.1 to crunch some data for my home state and recognized where a HUGE improvement could be made using Excel Advanced Filters.....When dealing with 1MM records, filtering on them has LOTS of limits. This will get around all of that and permit you to generate mapping input data based on your custom query rather than just using the list of unique address with voter numbers in descending order. Should be available mid-next week, after I pass it off to my crack QA team (NM and FL you know who you are). I think the EDA "geeks" will like it. 😂
