Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureates announced
For the discovery of nonlinear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis, the Nobel Prize was awarded to French scientist Henri Boris Kagan and Japanese chemist Kenso Soai.
Important:
Henri Boris Kagan is a foreign member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The scientists were able to answer the question of how the chemical asymmetry of living things arose — a phenomenon in which molecules (for example, amino acids) exist in two mirror forms, but living organisms use only one of them. For a long time, this property remained an unsolved mystery for chemists.
This discovery became a real breakthrough for specialists developing reactions for creating new pharmaceutical drugs.

| 18 | Your safety is our priority.
1️⃣ Respect the pedestrian crossing
Drivers: always slow down when approaching a crossing.
Pedestrians: cross the roadway only in designated places.
2️⃣ Observe the speed limit
Speeding deprives a driver of precious seconds to brake, and a pedestrian of a chance to survive. Choose a safe speed.
3️⃣ Be protected and visible
Drivers: the seat belt must be fastened by the driver and every passenger.
Pedestrians: in the dark or in bad weather, be sure to use reflective elements on your clothing.
4️⃣ Avoid distractions
A phone while driving or music in headphones while crossing the road "switches off" your attention and hearing. Focus on your surroundings.
Recently, in his homeland, Algeria, our resident doctor — Khaba Ilias — tragically died as a result of a road traffic accident.
We offer our sincere and deep condolences to his family, relatives, colleagues, and friends. This is a heavy and irreparable loss for all of us.

| 19 | +1🇨🇳 An ophthalmologist from the Ufa Research Institute of Eye Diseases studied Chinese experience in treating eye injuries at Tianjin Medical University.
Leysan Gilemzyanova completed a month-long internship at Tianjin Medical University under the supervision of Professor Yan Hua.
Highlights:
🔸 The department performs over 4,500 surgeries and 74,000 appointments annually;
🔸 Its main research areas are eye trauma and proliferative diabetic retinopathy;
🔸 Chinese specialists actively use their own medical equipment;
🔸 Furthermore, doctors in the department undergo a clear development process: from resident to experienced surgeon.
In return, our Chinese colleagues learned about our projects—the "East-West" conferences, the "League of Young Ophthalmologists," and the "Tochka Zreniye" (Point of View) journal.
