Naturally occurring minerals are of the following three types:
1 metallic mineral
2 non-metallic minerals
3 energy minerals
1 Metallic Minerals: When digging is done, the materials coming out of the earth contain many types of impurities. Mineral salts are removed by various types of processes, after this the mineral we get is pure mineral and is called metallic mineral.
types of metallic minerals
(A) Ferrous metals: Iron ore, manganese, nickel, cobalt etc.
(B) Non-ferrous metals: Copper, Lead, Tin, Bauxide
(C) Precious Minerals: Gold, Silver, Platinum etc.
2 Non-metallic minerals: Those mineral ores which are extracted from digging and after purification are obtained non-metal, those minerals are called non-metallic minerals.
Examples of Metallic Minerals
Granite, sulphur, salts, potash, mica marble limestone sandstone etc.
