Danakil Depression
◾️Belongs to northern part of Afar Triangle or Afar Depression in Ethiopia

The Pilibhit Tiger Reserve from Uttar Pradesh bagged the first international award TX2 for doubling its number of tigers in four years.
There are 51tiger reserves in India.
India is home to 80 percent of tigers in the world(CDS 2020)
In 2006, there were only 1,411 tigers in India which increased to 2,967 in 2018.
Statewise tiger population:
Madhya pradesh > Karnataka > Uttarakhand > Maharashtra
Of all the tiger reserves, Corbett tiger reserve has the highest population of tigers.
Srivilliputhur Megamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamilnadu
is India's latest Tiger Reserve.

MIGINGO ISLAND
Migingo is a small rock Island, located in Lake Victoria which is the largest lake in Africa and the largest Tropical Lake in the whole world.
It is half the size of a football pitch.
It is extremely densely populated.
The island was the center of a low-level territorial dispute between Kenya and Uganda. Recently, Uganda and Kenya agreed for the formation of a commission to look into disputed Miningo Island.
Main bone of contention is the fishing rights in Lake Victoria which is the largest lake of Africa and largest tropical lake of the world too.

Dodital Lake
▪️ Dodital is a freshwater lake in uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, India, situated at a height of 9,921 ft.
▪️ Assi ganga river rises from dodital and joins bhagirathi. The confluence is at Gangotri

Siachen Glacier | All you need to know about!
🔰 The Siachen Glacier is located in the Eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas, just northeast of Point NJ9842 where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends.
🔰 It is the Second-Longest glacier in the World's Non-Polar areas.
🔸 Fedchenko Glacier, located in Yazgulem Range, Tajikistan is the Longest glacier in the World's Non-Polar areas.
🔰 The Siachen Glacier lies immediately south of the great drainage divide that separates the Eurasian Plate from the Indian subcontinent in the extensively glaciated portion of the Karakoram sometimes called the "Third Pole".
🔰 The Siachen Glacier is part of Ladakh which has now been converted into a Union Territory.
🔰 The Siachen Glacier is the world's highest battlefield.
🔰 The entire Siachen Glacier has been under the administration/territory of India since 1984 (Operation Meghdoot).

🖍 Rajasthan Government has notified the Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary as a tiger reserve
🖍 It is the 4th Tiger Reserve of Rajasthan after Ranthambore, Sariska & Mukundra; and 52nd tiger reserve of India.
🖍 Tiger reserves are notified by the State Government as per provisions of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 on advice of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).

Balpakram National Park
▪️ Balpakram National Park is a national park in the south of Garo Hills in Meghalaya, India, located close to the international border with Bangladesh.

Pin Valley National Park
