🖍️ Rajasthan Government has notified the Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary as a tiger reserve
🖍️ It is the 4th Tiger Reserve of Rajasthan after Ranthambore, Sariska & Mukundra; and 52nd tiger reserve of India.
🖍️ Tiger reserves are notified by the State Government as per provisions of Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 on advice of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).

Red Sea
▪️ It (also the Erythraean Sea) is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia.
▪️ The connection to the ocean is in the south through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden.
▪️ To the north lie the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez (leading to the Suez Canal).

Vembanad lake
▪️ Vembanad or Vembanad Kol is the longest lake in India, and the largest lake in the state of Kerala
▪️ It is the second largest Ramasar site in India only after Sunderbans in west bengal, Spanning several districts in the state of Kerala
▪️ It is known as Vembanadu Lake in Alappuzha, Punnamada Lake in Kuttanad and Kochi Lake in Kochi.
▪️ The famous Nehru Trophy Boat Race is conducted in a portion of the lake in Alappuzha.
▪️ The government of India has identified the Vembanad wetland under the National Wetlands Conservation Programme.

Mettur dam:
▪️It is located across the Cauvery river in Mettur, Salem district of Tamil Nadu
▪️It was opened in 1934
▪️It receives inflows from its own catchment area, Kabini dam and Krishna Raja Sagar dam located in Karnataka
▪️It forms Stanley reservoir named after Lt. Col. Sir George Frederick Stanley, who was the Governor of Madras in 1934
▪️A park named Ellis park is situated at the base of the dam
▪️The dam provides irrigation and drinking water to more than 12 districts of Tamil Nadu and hence revered as Life and Livelihood giving asset of Tamil Nadu
▪️This dam also has a Hydroelectric power project in it
▪️Due to the subsequent construction of dams across Cauvery in Karnataka, this dam doesn't receive much water in lean seasons, leading to Kaveri River Water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka

GandhiSagar Dam
▪️ The Gandhi Sagar Dam is one of the four major dams built on India's Chambal River.
▪️ The dam is located in the Mandsaur, Neemuch districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh.
▪️ It is a masonry gravity dam, standing (204.0 ft) high, with a gross storage capacity of 7.322 billion cubic metres
▪️The dam's foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 7 March 1954
▪️ The reservoir created by the dam is the third largest in India (after the Indirasagar Reservoir and Hirakud Reservoir), with a total area of 723 km2 (279 sq mi).

▪️Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeastern state of Manipur, India
▪️Lake is famous for Phumdis,
Located on this phumdi, Keibul Lamjao National Park is the only floating national park in the world.
▪️ The park is the last natural refuge of the endangered Sangai or Manipur brown-antlered deer
▪️ Designated as Ramsar site in 1990 and was also in the Montreux record
▪️ Loktak Lake is fed by the Manipur river and several tributaries and ‘Ungamel Channel’ (Ithai Barrage) is its only outlet now.

Malwa Plateau
▪️ Malwa Plateau, plateau region in north-central India
▪️ Of volcanic origin, the plateau comprises central Madhya Pradesh state and southeastern Rajasthan state.
▪️ The name Malwa is derived from the Sanskrit malav (part of the abode of Laksmi [goddess of wealth]).
▪️ The plateau was ruled successively by the Maurya, Gupta, and Paramara dynasties
▪️The western part of the region is drained by the Mahi River, the middle section by the Chambal River, and the eastern part by the Betwa River and the headwaters of the Dhasan and Ken rivers

▪️ It is located towards the eastern end of the Chota Nagpur Plateau in the Giridih district of the Indian state of Jharkhand
▪️ Named after Lord Parshvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara
▪️ On the mountain, there are the Shikharji Jain temples, an important tirthakshetra or Jain pilgrimage site
▪️ At 1365m Parasnath is the highest mountain peak in the state of Jharkhand
▪️ It is a major pilgrimage site. out of 24 thirthankaras of jains 20 got nirvana on parshvnath Hills.

Baihetan Dam
▪️Why in News
▫️Recently, China has put into operation the Baihetan Dam, world’s Second Biggest Hydropower Dam.
▫️The Three Gorges Dam is the largest hydropower dam in the world and is also along China’s Yangtze River. It began operations in 2003.
▪️About the Dam:
▫️It is on the Jinsha River, a tributary of the Yangtze (the longest river in Asia).
▫️It has been built with a total installed capacity of 16,000 megawatts.
▫️It will eventually be able to generate enough electricity each day once to meet the power needs of 5,00,000 people for an entire year
▫️China’s pledge in 2020 to reach carbon neutrality by 2060 had also added urgency to the construction.

Potential of BBIN
⚜Once implemented thoroughly, they have the potential to increase India’s-regional trade within South Asia by almost 60% and with the rest of the world by over 30%.

1) Betla National Park
- Located on the Chota Nagpur Plateau in the Palamu district of Jharkhand.
- Betla was one of the first national parks in India to become a tiger reserve under Project Tiger, in 1974.

- The North Koel River and its tributaries flow through the northern portion of the park.
