1 day before the UPSC Prelims ? 1) Take a printout of the Hall Ticket to avoid last minute hustle. Ensure that you had all the documents ready for the exams Arrange all the things essential for the examination like Admit card (most important document- two copies), Passport size photograph (in case the print on the admit card is grainy or unclear), Photo ID proof, Two black pens Ballpoint ( for the OMR response sheet marking), Pencil, eraser( for rough work/calculations) preferably in a pouch or box, Analog wrist watches (not digital/smart as they are prohibited by UPSC). In case you are carpooling call the person and confirm your place and time of pick up. Cabs- Nowadays most app-based cab hailing services have advance booking feature use it to avoid last-minute unavailability which can be clearly seen especially on exam days in Delhi, Hyderabad etc 2) If the centre is in another city, then reach the destination city a day or 2 before the exam day. 3) Avoid Night journey before the day of the exam 4) Do not stay with family or friends, as it would not give you the peace of mind required before the exam 5) Visit the examination centre a day before the exam, to avoid any last-minute delays as sometimes locations are incorrectly marked on the GPS apps. 6) Get your biological clock tuned to the UPSC timings – 10 to 12 in the morning and 2 to 4 in the afternoon, especially for the people who study at night. 7) Do not read any new study material or books. Concentrate on the revision of content you have been preparing to date. 8) Do not set any target of marks you want to score in the Prelims. Because Unpredictability is one of the primary qualities of UPSC Prelims paper 9) Revise Basics of core subjects – history, geography, polity, ecology, economy as it covers more than 60% of the questions asked in UPSC exams every year 10) Keep scanning the newspapers until the day of the UPSC prelims exam to be aware of the things happening around us. (do not read newspapers in detail though) 11) Avoid Distractions – Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, youtube 12) Take extra care of your health – eat well, sleep well. 13) Stay away from negative, demoralising people before the UPSC Prelims exam. Always keep positive company, even during the exam break between paper 1 and paper 2 14) do not discuss UPSC Prelims Paper 1 questions during the exam break, as it may demoralise you impact your performance in UPSC Prelims paper 2 15) Do not attempt questions of which you have no idea about in the UPSC Prelims Exam. 16) Be ready for Surprises, because that’s what UPSC specialises in. 17) Mark the OMR sheet properly, darken the circles properly. 18) UPSC is also a test of temperament, so don’t get panicked if there are difficult questions at the beginning of UPSC Prelims Exam. Keep calm and move onto the next question. 19) You should have 100% faith in yourself because it will give you the confidence to attempt the UPSC Prelims exam efficiently 20) Last but not the least – Stay positive. Repeat the following words to yourself “I have prepared well, and I will Clear the UPSC Prelims 2020 Exam” 👆 1 day before the UPSC Prelims ? @insightsonindian

Chairman- Q1- You have lived at many places- why Q2- You have been working after college, tell me about your work Q3- Key issues in school education sector (my recent project was about that) Q4- How would you solve these issues Post this, CM was disengaged, constantly looking in his mobile M1- Q0- Whose tie is this? What’s the brand of tie you are wearing :P Q1- You hail from Fazilka- key political importance of place during the unrest in Punjab Q2- Punjab went through long phase of insurgency- Why did it last so long and how was it finally tackled? Q3- You mentioned about KPS Gill- in what capacity was he involved Q4- There were reports about Police excesses during the time- What were they? Q5- Do you think situation was this bad that such severe measures had to be taken Q6- Judiciary is also blamed to be reticent through the phase- you think that was the case M2- Q1- Ways of parliamentary checks on executive expenditure of money Q2- What does CAG stand for Q3- Have you heard about progressive auditing ( or something like this which basically meant evaluating not only fund utilisation but also effectiveness) Q4- I said no and then he explained it for a while and asked me as a consultant explain the ways in which we can include this in auditing Q5- He mentioned about a more formal EEE approach (Efficiency, Economy, Effectiveness). Asked me to explain what each of this means in context of public expenditure M4- Q1- Back to education, you mentioned about drop outs in school- do you know about the differential between male- female dropout Q2- Then, he asked me to explain the reasons Q3- Can you relate water also to girl dropout- On responding, he told me to make sure that we include these measures in future projects Q4- Then he said if you become IAS, which state will you choose Q5- Why not Chhattisgarh (state where I did high schooling) Not able to recall 1-2 Qs that he asked too M5- Q1- Give details of what all projects/ sectors and your contribution Q2- Do you think you made any meaningful impact in these projects Q3- On explaining- he said if you are creating such impact why civil services Q4- After some discussion on money and it’s importance for me- he asked me how are you sure civil services will give you job satisfaction.
