ZIGChain launches its buyback program and opens voting
#ZIGChain launches its buyback program, with voting now open. Unlike typical treasury-funded buybacks, the initiative is powered by #ZIGMarkets’ commercial revenue, generated from fees on capital flowing through its layer to access compliant onchain yield. This revenue stream remains active beyond market cycles and is used to purchase $ZIG on the open market.
Half of the repurchased tokens flow automatically into the ecosystem pool, while validators decide how to allocate the remaining half through a public, stake-weighted vote. If a vote fails, tokens are still directed to the ecosystem pool, ensuring all repurchased $ZIG remains within the ecosystem.
Cycle one launches with 1,038,600 $ZIG. The stake-weighted vote runs until July 31, requiring 51% approval, with onchain results, a public retirement wallet, and a live dashboard providing transparency.
ZIGChain previously teamed up with #ADIChain to build productive onchain finance infrastructure, focusing on receivables financing, PayFi, SME liquidity, and tokenized private credit to move real-world financial activity onchain.

Payward has acquired Magic Labs' embedded wallet business
#Payward, the parent company of Kraken, has acquired Magic Labs' embedded wallet business. The deal is structured as an asset sale, with #MagicLabs and Payward continuing to operate as separate independent companies after closing. Wallet customers will transition to Payward Services, while Magic Labs will rebrand as #NewtonLabs.
The company stated that Newton Labs will focus solely on developing the Newton Protocol, an onchain finance authorization layer designed to enforce compliance, security, and risk controls before transactions are finalized onchain.

BitMart will shut down trading on August 26
#BitMart has decided to gradually wind down its trading platform after evaluating market conditions and future strategy. BitMart suspended new registrations, deposits, and trading orders at 01:30 UTC on July 26, shortly after announcing its wind-down plan. Remaining futures positions may be settled according to the platform’s applicable mark price, index price, or settlement rules. BitMart Earn, Staking, Lending, and Launchpad services will be phased out over time.
BitMart will formally cease trading platform operations on January 31, 2027, while users will retain limited access to accounts and withdrawals. The exchange urges users to complete verification, close positions, and submit withdrawal requests before August 26. Some withdrawals may require compliance reviews, including KYC, security checks, risk assessments, Travel Rule compliance, and sanctions screening, with processing times varying due to volume.

BitMEX will permanently shut down its exchange on September 23
The shutdown follows an unsuccessful sale process launched in February 2025. KYC-verified users who do not withdraw before the deadline will face a monthly fee of $50 or 1% annually, whichever is higher, on remaining balances, with possible increases for accounts that continue to hold funds.
Withdrawals, balance viewing, and transaction history will remain available after the shutdown, though processing delays may occur. #BitMEX warned users about phishing attempts, confirmed there is no priority withdrawal service, and said customer assets exceed liabilities, with no funds lost to hacks during its operating history.

Mirae Asset unveils acquisition of Korbit
#MiraeAsset has finalized the acquisition of a controlling stake in South Korean crypto exchange #Korbit, becoming its largest shareholder after completing regulatory approvals.
