The second simply do not exist. The prophets did not "see their job" as a passion career. They obeyed a calling - often against their flesh, against comfort against reputation, and against safety. In many ways, I understand that tension. This was never about enjoyment. It was never about being universally accepted. It is about obedience. And it is about the hour we are living in. Paul wrote: "And do this, knowing the time that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light" (Romans 13:11-12). The night is far spent. This is not the hour for comfort, or asking whether we enjoy the assignment. It is the time to be faithful to it. If the Lord calls, you answer. Not because it is easy, or pleasant, or popular.
