Good morning! As far as I’m concerned, autumn officially starts tomorrow! So if today is the official last day of summer, how best to celebrate the season that represents sunlight and wildflowers, fireworks and fireflies, cold fruits and barbeques, splashing water and steamy terrains? As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease (Genesis 8:22)

Moms can never hideout from their kids. No matter how many rooms, mileage, continents or dimensions crossed, they will find you. So it pays to always be a kind and decent person because you don’t know how many tired moms you may unwittingly help. My neighbors don’t even know this happened, but I unlocked their side door, entered the passcode to turn off their security system, played with their dog, read a book then slept on their couch. It was a wonderful dream until I was semi-shocked awakened this morning by a very loud and shrill voice informing anyone in a four-mile radius, “It’s not my job!” Like I said, your kids* will find you. Even in your vacation dreams. I’m grateful my neighbors are kind and decent folks who let me crash at their place. Hope you also encounter kind and decent folks all weekend. You keep hope alive...

We had the first high school only homeschool event of the year last night. I made the food, took care of the “Minute-to-Win-It” games, made take home goodie bags… The twins said they had fun and I didn’t embarrass them so though I dropped the ball on the latter, I’m glad about the former. I’m knee deep in getting field trips and high school only events set up, and I’m planning a neighborhood get together as well. I know it feels like The Storm is upon us, I know that some days we are just worn out, and I know we just want It All To Be Over Already™... Even so, keep a song in your heart, a smile on your face and definitely keep making fun plans! Planning is hope.
