No, I want to smile and laugh and remember. I want to sway and boogie, and sing many songs of yesteryear. I want to giggle at the fashion and laugh at the memes. I want to remember what I have forgotten. I want to appreciate the past and thank the Lord for giving me these sweet memories –and keeping me through them. This weekend, share all that you want –pics, songs, memes, moments– the things that make you smile and laugh and remember, too.

I’m positive I’ve shared this before… My brain is like a squirrel on amphetamines, thoughts bouncing off mental trampolines, thoughts slamming into one another. Usually there’s a natural flow, one thought begats another then I quickly categorize them: write this one down, dismiss this one, let’s pray about this one. Occasionally, when I’m juggling more tasks than usual or have to deal with something emotionally stressful, there is little time to direct the flow so it’s easier to just slam the door shut and slap a ‘NOPE’ sign on it. That’s how it’s been the last couple of weeks. I’m guiding my high schoolers on how to write their first science research paper (and educating myself on the rules that have changed since I was in high school!) and we’re putting the finishing touches on their Cost of Living project. And their Stock Market project. And their Shakespeare project. Last Saturday, dearest Ava passed away. Yesterday, I went to her memorial service. I’m sure you can imagine the emotions and thoughts that were raging inside during the service. Thoughts that need to be guided by the Lord when I finally get a moment to sit at my favorite writing instrument. Ava’s favorite color is purple. On the way home, I stopped by the local drugstore, picked out a lovely shade of purple nail polish in honor of her. Summer is approaching and I want to show off the purple. It started when Felix and I began sorting through paperwork from the 80s and 90s. It pressed on me while helping my kids with their studies. Then after watching Ava’s memorial slide: photos of her frozen in time. Finally culminating last night with listening to Karen Carpenter and Ella Fitzgerald sing a medley… A stroll down memory lane. One I would like to wander down with my friends. Um, ThinMint, the world is on fire and you want to stick your head in the sand?

Boy does this ever bring back memories 😖 Hope y’all have some good Trump arrest memes. Gotta laugh at the absurdity of it all. I have a feeling that Trump will get the last laugh 😏
