🕊 Lord - You know the weariness we encounter. These days the unrest seems steady. We are looking for change, Father. Changes that would bring about Your glory. Please give Your faithful servants strength to endure the enemy's attacks. Give us clear direction for when we need to step back, when we need to engage and the means to accomplish Your will. Each night, bathe us in Your comfort and peace. And when we rise, put a song in our heart. Help us spread Your love and let all we do reflect Your goodness. This is prayed in the sweet, precious name of Jesus.

It always amazes me to see beautiful skies and gorgeous weather after a storm passes. As if the unyielding winds and slanted rain did not fiercely drive through communities and the countryside. Our area was in the warning cone, the tornado sirens activated, storm spotters reporting that a tornado would be bearing down within minutes. Felix and I watched the radar closely. As the extreme weather moved from north Mississippi into south western Tennessee, it began to dissipate, skirting the cone, moving into the county next to us. We couldn’t believe what we were watching on the radar; the tornado was gone! A lapse for about an hour before another round of concern for more tornadic activity. However, a tornado did not manifest. We are fine. From what I understand it could have been worse in various places in our great land. Thank you, Lord for being there in the midst of the scary, the unpredictable. Thank you, friends, for your thoughtful prayers. It’s been felt -seen, firsthand, really. How are YOU doing?

Many fine folks will be impacted (and already have been) by the storms moving across our beautiful land. This does look unusual on the radar in that it's not a massive wall of angry bearing down, but pockets of roughness scattering across many states. Shock and sorrow fill us when we see devastated landscapes, homes... but, it's always the loss of life that renders us truly heartbroken. We've prepared as best we can and I'm tempted to preemptively eat some ice cream as we expect the power to be knocked out. My main focus will be trying to calm our two littlest. One of them knows the nuances of worrying. Glow sticks and promises of not getting any ice cream helps maintain a little order (I obviously exemplify finesse parenting skills) 😏 I'm claiming Philippians 4:7 over our household. I would remind my dearest friends that peace isn't the absence of distress, trials... storms. It's resting in the presence of God.

Another way to look at fighting evil: Do you comply with man-made institutions and ridiculous oligarchy demands? Do you donate time or money to pro-life organizations? Do you support the second amendment? Do you attend school board meetings –even if you don’t intend to speak? Have you filled up a seat at a Drag Show Reading just so that seat isn’t taken by a wayward parent bringing a child in tow? Do you homeschool or support homeschooling? Do you feed the birds? Befriend God’s creatures? Do you get out in God’s creation and praise Him for all His stunning artistry? Do you love your family? Do you appreciate all the good things the Lord has done for you? Do you consistently tell God, ‘thank you’? Do you prepare for the lean times? Are you prepared to help others in the lean times? Do you speak life? Do you hate what the Lord hates and loves what the Lord loves? Is it possible that you have been fighting evil in oh so many different ways all this time and you don’t even recognize it? The first step in fighting evil is to love the Lord with all your heart. Find ways to strengthen this love. Everything else will fall into place.
