Essay Strategy Disclaimer: I did not write any mocks for Essay paper. Marks - 135 (2020), 142 (2022) Time Distribution - 2 x 2.5 minutes for choosing the topic 2 x (12 minutes) for brainstorming on each topic 2 x (1.25 hours) for writing each essay 2 x (0.5 minute) for appreciating the beautiful marvel that you've created General Outline - 1. Choose a topic of your comfort; comfort may, but not necessarily, mean a. Clear comprehension of the topic b. Sufficient examples on the topic c. Usage of your CHEATSHEET (described below). 2. While brainstorming, try to think of as many dimensions as possible and not just the regular GS answer generating generic techniques like STAPLE, Individual-Institutional-National level breakdown, etc. 3. Introduce the essay with a quote (preferably with a meaning as close to the topic at hand as possible). 4. Write a small paragraph explaining the topic with/without the help of an example/anecdote. 5. Write crisp paragraphs with sizes of 0.5-0.75 page length in general (though it will vary with the font size of your handwriting) 6. Try to build a covert connect to the topic at hand. 7. Conclusion should be an example/anecdote which is very enthralling to the reader. 8. Sprinkle your essays with material from your CHEATSHEET. Cheatsheet - Collection of preempted or already rot quotes, book summaries, anecdotes, examples, short stories, etc through which you want to grab the attention of the reader; Just like a story has a hook or a joke has a premise; an essay ought to have multiple points of attention seeking material so that the reader enjoys it thoroughly (cause you'll be getting the marks for the same). E.g. "There is a moment, a cusp, when the sum of gathered experience is worn down by the details of living. We are never so wise as when we live in this moment." ~ Paul Kalanithi in 'When breath becomes Air' Credit Rahul Kant Air 497
