🚨 SEBI Refers Auditor BSD & Co. to NFRA
SEBI has referred BSD & Co., among other auditors, to NFRA over concerns regarding reliance on management-provided information from foreign subsidiaries of Rajesh Exports Limited while issuing clean audit opinions.
⚠️ Key concern: Management representations cannot replace sufficient appropriate audit evidence, even when foreign data-access restrictions exist.
🔎 What next? NFRA’s examination will determine whether further regulatory action is warranted. A referral is not a final finding of misconduct.
Very sensible piece by R Venkataraman.
