Hadith of the Day

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while teaching us (the principles of faith), said: Do not try to go ahead of the Imam, recite takbir when he recites it, and when he says: "Nor of those who err" you should say Amin, bow down when he bows down, and when he says: "Allah listens to him who praises Him" say: "O Allah, our Lord, to Thee be the praise". (Sahih Muslim 415a, Book 4, Hadith 94)

Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone acquires knowledge that should be sought seeking the Face of Allah, but he acquires it only to get some worldly advantage, he will not experience the arf, i.e. the fragrance, of Paradise. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3664, Book 25, Hadith 3656)

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "The poor Muslims are admitted into Paradise before their rich by half a day. And that is five hundred years." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2354, Vol. 4, Book 10, Hadith 2354)

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do you think that is there was a river by the door of any one of you, and he bathed in it five times each day, would there be any trace of dirt left on him?" They said: "No trace of dirt would be left on him." He said: "That is the likeness of the five daily prayers. By means of them Allah erases sins." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 462, Vol. 1, Book 5, Hadith 463)

Samura b. Jundub reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said "The dearest phrases to Allah are four: Subhan Allah (Hallowed be Allah), Al-Hamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illa-Allah (There is no deity but Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greater). There is no harm for you in which of them begin with (while remembering Allah). And do not give these names to your servants: Yasar and Rabah and Najih and Aflah. (Sahih Muslim 2137a, Book 38, Hadith 16)

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Forgive the people of good qualities their slips, but not faults to which prescribed penalties apply. (Sunan Abi Dawud 4375, Book 39, Hadith 4362)

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone pursues a path in search of knowledge, Allah will thereby make easy for him a path to paradise; and he who is made slow by his actions will not be speeded by his genealogy. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3643, Book 25, Hadith 3636)

Narrated 'Ali: If a man visits a patient in the evening, seventy thousand angels come along with him seeking forgiveness from Allah for him till the morning, and he will have a garden in the Paradise. (Sunan Abi Dawud 3098, Book 20, Hadith 3092)

Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them offer the prayer." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1042, Book 16, Hadith 3)

Ibn Abbas narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: "If anyone of you, when having sexual intercourse with his wife, says: (Bismillah, Allahumma jannibnash-Shaitana wa jannibish-Shaitana ma razaqtana) 'In the Name of Allah, O Allah! Protect me from Shaitan and protect what you bestow upon us from Shaitan' - then if Allah decrees that they should have a child, Shaitan will not be able to harm him.'" (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1092, Vol. 2, Book 6, Hadith 1092)

Abu Mahdhura said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught him Adhan like this: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad Is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and it should be again repeated: I testify that there is no god but Allah, I testify that there is no god but Allah; I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Come to the prayer (twice). Come to success (twice). Ishaq added: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; there Is no god but Allah. (Sahih Muslim 379, Book 4, Hadith 6)

'Ubadah bin As-Samit narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him. Whoever is averse to meeting Allah, Allah is averse to meeting him." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2309, Vol. 4, Book 10, Hadith 2309)

Umar b. Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) reported: I donated a pedigree horse in the path of Allah. Its possessor made it languish. I thought that he would sell it at a cheap price. I asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about it, whereupon he said: Don't buy it and do not get back your charity, for one who gets back the charity is like a dog who swallows its vomit. (Sahih Muslim 1620a, Book 24, Hadith 1)

It was narrated that 'Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "While I was menstruating, I would nibble meat from a bone and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would put his mouth where mine has been. And while I was menstruating, I would drink from a vessel and he would put his mouth where mine had been." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 341, Vol. 1, Book 2, Hadith 342)

It was narrated that Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "I was in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was praying, and when I wanted to leave I did not want to get up and pass in front of him, so I just slipped away slowly and quietly." (Sunan an-Nasa'i 755, Vol. 1, Book 9, Hadith 756)

'A'isha reported that the new-born infants were brought to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). He blessed them and rubbed their palates with dates. (Sahih Muslim 2147, Book 38, Hadith 34)

'Anas narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) would often say: Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik ('O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon Your Religion.)' So I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! We believe in you and what you have come with, but do you fear for us?' He said: 'Yes. Indeed the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, He changes them as He wills.'" (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2140, Vol. 4, Book 6, Hadith 2140)
