Narrated Ibn `Abbas (RA): Once the Prophet (ﷺ) embraced me (pressed me to his chest) and said, "O Allah, teach him wisdom (i.e. the understanding of the knowledge of Qur'an). (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 5, Book 57, Hadith 100)

Narrated Ibn `Umar (RA): During the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) we considered Abu Bakr as peerless and then `Umar and then `Uthman (coming next to him in superiority) and then we used not to differentiate between the companions of the Prophet. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 5, Book 57, Hadith 47)

Narrated `Abdullah (RA): We have been powerful since `Umar (RA) embraced Islam. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 5, Book 57, Hadith 33

Narrated Al-Bara (RA): A silken cloth was given as a present to the Prophet (ﷺ) . His companions started touching it and admiring its softness. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Are you admiring its softness? The handkerchiefs of Sa`d bin Mu`adh (in Paradise) are better and softer than it." (Sahih Bukhari Vol. 5, Book 58, Hadith 146)

It was narrated that ‘Aishah (RA) said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) only forbade storing the meat of the sacrifices because the people were facing hardship. Then later he permitted that.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 3159, Book 26, Hadith 40)

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The fast is the day the people fast, the breaking of the fast is the day the people break their fast, and the sacrifice is the day the people sacrifice." (Jami`at-Tirmidhi 697, Book 8, Hadith 16)

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that: the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Al-Yawmul-Maw’ud (the Promised Day) is the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Yawmul-Mashhud (the Attended Day) is the Day of Arafah, and Ash-Shahid (the witness) is Friday.” He said: “The sun does not rise nor set, upon a day that is more virtuous than it. In it, there is an hour in which no believing worshipper makes a supplication to Allah for good, except that Allah answers it for him, and he does not seek Allah’s aid for something, except that He aids him in it.” (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Book 47, Hadith 3661)

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA): The Messenger of Allah (SAW) offered the noon prayer on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah (Yawm at-Tarwiyah) and dawn prayer on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah (Yawm al-Arafah) in Mina. (Sunan Abi Dawud 1911, Book 11, Hadith 191) Are you making the most of these days? Engage in extra Dhikr, read some Qur'an but don't let these days escape without maximising them!

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that his brother Fadl (RA) was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in the morning of sacrifice (i.e., the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah), when a woman from Khath'am came and said: "O Messenger of Allah (SAW), the command of Allah has come for His slaves to perform Hajj, but my father is an old man and cannot ride. May I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Yes, because if your father owed a debt you would pay it off." (Sunan Ibn Majah 2907, Book 25, Hadith 26)

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated: "A man stood and said 'O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! What clothing do you command us to wear in Al-Haram?' The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Do not wear shirts, nor pants, nor burnooses, nor turbans, nor Khuff - unless one does not have any sandals, then let him wear Khuff, but let him cut them below the ankles. And do not wear any cloth that has been touched by saffron or Wars. And the woman in Ihram is not to cover her face, nor wear gloves.'" (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 833, Book 9, Hadith 26) In this Hadith, Wars refers Al-Wars, a yellow scented plant used for dyeing garments.

Ibn Umar (RA) narrated: "The Prophet (SAW) would say the following for the Talbiyah: "Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni’mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka." ('I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call. You have no partner. I respond to Your call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. All sovereignty is for You. And You have no partners with You).'"
