Gitem Sitem is introducing an open mic series titled "Mistet - The Listening Room," hosted at Jazz Coffee in Mekanissa on 21 October, located in front of the Sido Building. The event provides a dedicated venue for spoken word, performance poetry, stories, rhythms, and personal confessions.
The program features an open room, a featured poet performance, a live experiment, and an afterword session. The entry fee for attendees is 400 ETB.

The Gud Raw Concert Series, a live reggae music event, will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at The Venue Warehouse in Addis Ababa. The event is presented by Jan Events and Tinsis Media, with support from Numek. Doors are scheduled to open at 7:00 PM.
The lineup features performances by main act Wukianos & Zion Rebels, guest artists Haile Roots, Aman Kiyamo, and DJ E, as well as an opening performance by Hayu.

Over the past 6 days, Meskel Square was buzzing as MIDROC Investment Group brought together the key industries driving the economy forward

A workshop titled "Traces of Our Own: Art, Gender & Creation for Ethiopian Women Artists" will take place from November 20 to 23, 2026. Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Ethiopia, AECID (Spanish Cooperation), El Telart, and Oveja Negra, the program focuses on art and gender creation tailored for female artists in Ethiopia.
The sessions will run daily from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM at ENG Ethiopia. Interested participants and inquiries can contact the organizers directly via email at oce.cg.etiopia@aecid.es.

In Ethiopia, sexual violence against men and boys remains a subject rarely spoken about. Behind the silence are survivors whose experiences are dismissed, while society leaves the crime and its perpetrators in the open and its victims still remain behind closed doors.
Today, we explore the largely uncharted world of sexual violence against men, and ask why we continue to refuse to talk about it.

In this month’s LinkUp Magazine ListenUp section, we explore Neosinnia a collaborative mixtape project by Bana Records attempting to define the sound of modern Ethiopian fusion.
Written by Kidus Yohannes, the feature dives inside the creative songwriting camp that brought together over 20 artists and producers including Blen, Ebne Hakim, Yazqal, Rumi, InDi, and Nizo. From nostalgic washint openings and modern hip-hop fusion to Wolayta-inspired drum rhythms on standalone tracks like "Sodo", the project offers a first peek into what the future of Ethiopian music identity could look like.
