CA Final Notes

Key points about IBS paper 6 of CA Final: - This is a case study based paper. There will be 1 case study of 25 marks with theory questions based on it. - Case studies will be from real business scenarios like mergers, acquisitions, business strategy, working capital etc. - The paper will test the ability of students to apply concepts from all subjects like audit, direct tax, indirect tax, law, costing, FM, economics. - Initially the focus is more on costing as it provides the base. Gradually more concepts from other subjects will be tested. - The paper intends to test practical application of concepts to solve business problems, not technical knowledge. - Questions will be application oriented and at a general level, not very technical or advanced. - The paper will be scoring with about 40% weightage to MCQs. No lengthy computations expected. - Regular practice of IBS case studies is important for preparation. 7-10 case studies should be sufficient. - No separate coaching required if students have studied main subjects well already. IBS paper will test integrated application of concepts to solve business problems through a practical case study based format.
