The Laylat al-Dafn prayer is performed as follows:
In the first rak'ah, recite Surat al-Fatihah followed by Ayat al-Kursi. In the second rak'ah, recite Surat al-Fatihah followed by Surat al-Qadr ten times. After completing the prayer, recite:
"Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa Ali Muhammad, wab'ath thawabaha ila qabri fulani ibn fulan."
(O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and convey the reward of this prayer to the grave of so-and-so, son of so-and-so.)
In place of "fulani ibn fulan," mention the name of each martyr and his or her father.

Following the funeral procession of the sacred body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei (may his noble rank be exalted), in holy Mashhad, and the funeral prayer held over his sacred body in the Prophet Muhammad Courtyard (pbuh), the farewell ceremony by the respected family of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution is now underway. The burial of his sacred body has not yet taken place.
Once the burial has been completed, KHAMENEI.IR will provide the necessary information regarding the observance of the burial rites and the Laylat al-Dafn prayer.
