BENEFIT: Extinguishing Fires by Saying "Allahu Akbar"
Ibn Al-Qayyim rahimahullah writes in Zaad Al-Ma'aad:Chapter: The Prophet's ﷺ Guidance on Treating and Extinguishing Fires It is narrated from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ((إذا رأيتم الحريق فكبروا فإن التكبير يطفئه)) "When you see a fire, say 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest), for saying the takbir extinguishes it." Since fire is caused by fire itself, and fire is the substance from which Shayṭān was created, and because fire can cause widespread destruction that suits Shayṭān's nature and actions, Shayṭān helps to spread it and carries it out. By its nature, fire seeks to rise upward and cause destruction. These two qualities—seeking high status on the earth and spreading corruption—are also the way of Shayṭān. They are what he calls people to, and through them he destroys the children of Adam. Both fire and Shayṭān seek to rise high on the earth and spread corruption. But the greatness and majesty of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, overpower Shayṭān and his actions. For this reason, declaring Allah's greatness by saying "Allahu Akbar" has an effect in putting out a fire. Nothing can stand against the greatness and majesty of Allah. So when a Muslim glorifies his Lord by saying the takbir, it has an effect in calming the fire and weakening Shayṭān, from whose substance the fire came. As a result, the fire is extinguished. We and others have experienced this and found it to be true. And Allah knows best. Source: https://t.me/madrasatunaa/512

Advice to Sisters: Continue with Ṭalab al-ʿIlm!
From our Shaykha Oum ʿAbdillāh al-Brīṭāniyyah حفظها الله ورعاها
The things that keep us busy from ṭalab al-ʿilm are always going to be there. We’re women.
• Prepare the meal before I leave so it’s easier when I come back.
• Is the house tidy?
• Make sure the children are clean and fed.
Leaving the house and going to seek ʿilm is easier for the men than it is for us, in a way. We have different responsibilities; however, we should not allow them to prevent us from ṭalab al-ʿilm.
Whether we’re single, then get married and stop studying…
Or whether we’re not working now, and we find a ḥalāl job and start a small business… then stop ṭalab al-ʿilm.
Or we have a baby… now no ṭalab al-ʿilm.
Some just become pregnant… then they stop.
Continuing to seek knowledge is necessary for us to grow. This is how we grow in the dīn.
The “duʿāt” who only go out to study for one year and then start teaching—years later, you see them at the same level, while the people they used to teach come back, correct them, and have more knowledge.
It shows they didn’t grow.
We should always try to grow and improve ourselves. Why?
Because the more we grow in knowledge, the more money we make? No.
Because the more we grow in knowledge, the more fame we get? No.
The more we grow in knowledge, the closer we are to Allāh ﷻ, the more taqwā we have, and the more istiqāmah we have.
When trials come, we’re stronger and have a better ability to deal with whatever comes our way.
Some stop studying when fitnah comes their way…
We should not stop—not for this or that, not for good reasons or bad reasons.
Ṭalab al-ʿilm helps us get through difficult times.
Teaching Muṣṭalaḥ al-Ḥadīth during the war in Dammāj, and preparing lessons in a bunker — it helped Shaykha a great deal.
Even in times of difficulty, continue with ṭalab al-ʿilm.
During the attack on Dammāj, Shaykh Yaḥyā continued teaching the three major lessons over the loudspeaker. The continuity and the rāḥah (ease) gave them so much relief.
By Allāh, the ease used to come, as even the Rāfiḍah would stop launching missiles when the lessons were on. Subḥānallāh!
(They weren’t listening; it’s just that, by Allāh, they would stop.)
It’s our rāḥah. No matter what we go through—good or bad—it’s our anchor that keeps us steady, gives us peace and tranquillity in our lives, and keeps us focused on why we are here and what we are doing.
As Shaykh Muqbil’s daughter used to say:
“Whether we have one child or ten children…”
We continue with ṭalab al-ʿilm.

“Knowledge is like prey, and writing it down is the rope that captures it.”
A beautiful poem by Imām ash-Shāfiʿī رحمه الله reminding us that knowledge must be preserved. Just as a hunter captures his prey, the student of knowledge captures what they learn by recording it.
Your notebook is an essential tool in your journey of seeking knowledge, for what is not written down is easily forgotten.

📩 A MESSAGE TO MUSLIM WOMEN
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) said:
"Women also include believers, female callers to Allah (dāʿiyāt), and those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. This responsibility is not exclusive to men.
So women should pay attention to this and begin with their own homes—with their daughters and their children—starting with them and raising them upon obedience (to Allah)."

📌 MAKE THIS A PRINCIPLE:
لا يخلو كتاب من فائدة !
No book is devoid of benefit
The principle that "no book is devoid of benefit" was cited by Ibnul-Jawzī in Ṣaydul-Khāṭir (p. 411). While advising the student of knowledge, he wrote:
«"Let him strive to sit with the scholars... and acquire books, for no book is devoid of benefit."»
This principle is likewise reflected in the literary philosophy of 'Abbas al-'Aqqad.

Repost from N/a
Imam Abū Muḥammad Ibn Ḥazm (d. 456 AH) wrote in his treatise Marātib al-ʿUlūm (The Categories of Sciences) that among the pillars of seeking knowledge is acquiring a large collection of books. He said:
«"Acquire an abundance of books, for no book is devoid of benefit. Within them is knowledge that a person will find when the need arises. It is impossible for anyone to memorise everything within their field of knowledge, and since that is unattainable, books serve as the finest repository for what one cannot retain.»
«Were it not for books, the sciences would have vanished and disappeared. It is a mistake for anyone to criticise acquiring many books. If such an opinion were accepted, the sciences would perish, and the ignorant would contend with the scholars, claiming whatever they wished. For were it not for the testimony of books, the claims of the scholar and the ignorant would be equal."»

Recommendation & Advice 📚
If possible, make it a habit to read (Riyāḍuṣ-Ṣāliḥīn - The Garden of ther righteous) at the end of each day before going to bed. If that is difficult, then aim to read it every Sunday night.
By the permission of Allah, this book helps cultivate good character, strengthens one's worship, increases beneficial knowledge, and serves as a means of nurturing many aspects of a Muslim's life.
Al-'Allāmah Ibn 'Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) spoke very highly of the book. He described it as one of the most beneficial books for both the general Muslims and students of knowledge, noting that it is read in mosques and gatherings and that people have benefited greatly from it.
He also described it as a blessed book that benefits the young and old, the scholar and the layperson alike. He praised Imām Nawawī's excellent selection and arrangement of the aḥādīth and even said that if Allah had decreed for him a work with the same widespread acceptance and benefit as Riyāḍuṣ-Ṣāliḥīn, he would have considered that a great blessing.

THE PEOPLE OF TRUTH MUST CLARIFY THE TRUTH
Al-ʿAllāmah ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn Bāz—may Allāh have mercy on him—said:
“If the people of truth did not speak out in clarification of the truth, then the people of error would remain upon their mistakes, others would blindly follow them in that, and the sin of withholding the truth would fall back on those who remained silent.”

The Sunnah regarding the recitation in the prayers is generally as follows:
1. Fajr: The longest recitation, approximately 60–100 verses.
2. Dhuhr: Around 30 verses.
3. ʿAsr: About half of that (around 15 verses).
4. Maghrib: From the short chapters of al-Mufaṣṣal, meaning generally shorter than ʿAsr.
5. ʿIshāʾ: Shorter than Maghrib.
This is the general order for the imam's recitation in the five daily prayers.
However, this is the usual practice, and there is no harm in occasionally lengthening a prayer that is normally shorter or shortening one that is normally longer, as this is also established in the Sunnah.

💢 The Harm of Self-Admiration (ʿUjb) Upon the Scholar and the Student 💢
It is narrated from Ṣuhayb ibn Sinān (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said:
"Indeed, there was a prophet among those who came before you who became impressed with his nation.
(In another narration: He was given an army from among his people.)
So he said: 'These people will never be overcome by anything.'
(In another wording: 'Who can match these people? Who can stand against them?')
Then Allah revealed to him:
'Give them the choice between one of three things:
1. That I send against them an enemy from outside who will overpower and destroy them;
2. Or famine;
3. Or death.'
They said: 'As for being killed or suffering famine, we have no strength to endure that. So we choose death.'
So, within three days, seventy thousand of them died."
Source: Reported by Imam Ahmad (Nos. 18937 and 18933).
Imam Muqbil ibn Hādī Al-Wādiʿī (may Allah have mercy on him) included this hadith in Al-Jāmiʿ Aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥ (1/153) under:
Chapter 108: "The Harm of Self-Admiration (ʿUjb) Upon the Scholar and the Student."
Benefit:
This narration highlights the grave danger of ʿujb (self-admiration or conceit). Feeling impressed with one's own abilities, knowledge, strength, or achievements can lead to Allah's punishment and the loss of His protection. Scholars and students of knowledge are especially warned against this disease, as knowledge should produce humility, gratitude, and reliance upon Allah—not pride or self-confidence independent of Him.
