Let’s Talk About Resumes and Job Applications – What to Do and What to Avoid
✅What to DO (These actually work)
⏺Tell your story clearly.
Write in a simple and honest way. Explain what you did and what impact it had.
⏺Change your resume for each job.
Don’t send the same resume everywhere. Read the job post carefully and show how your skills match.
⏺Show results, not just tasks.
Look Instead of saying “Answered emails,” write “Answered 50+ customer emails something like this”
⏺Keep your format clean and simple.
Use easy-to-read fonts and short bullet points. Leave some space so it’s not crowded.
⏺Proofread before sending.
Check for spelling or grammar mistakes(Specially Email and Other Contact options). Read it out loud or ask someone you trust to review it.
🚫 What NOT to DO (These things don’t help)
⏺Don’t list every job you’ve ever had.
Only include jobs and experiences that are related to the one you’re applying for.
⏺Don’t add personal details.
You don’t need to include your age, photo, religion, or marital status. These are not needed.
⏺Don’t use overused words like “hardworking” or “team player.”
Instead, show how you are hardworking by sharing real examples from your past work.
⏺Don’t send 50 resumes with the same format.
It’s better to apply to fewer jobs but with a resume that fits each one well.
⏺Don’t worry about fancy design.
If your resume is clear and easy to read, that’s enough. You don’t need colors or graphics.
I think the don't parts are what we all did once but won’t anymore🙏

🙏 Let’s Show Up for One of Our Own
He’s a 3rd-year IT student at Bahir Dar University. This summer was supposed to be for internship — but instead, he’s stuck with no support, no stable place, and barely any food.
His mom couldn’t keep him, and other family members didn’t want him to go to Addis for internship. After 20 days off-campus, things got so bad he stopped eating. He asked for help — and thankfully, some kind people stepped in. But it’s not enough to keep going like this.
If you can help in any way — with food, a place, or just sharing this — please do. Every little thing matters. ❤️

This anime is one of the realest anime's I've watched. I realize that I am not truly incompetent and that I am only held down by the restriction I put on myself. Surrounded by talent and hardworkers can make you question your own abilities, but pushing forward when it's the hardest is when you truly shine. I'm still trying to get my grips around the whole SWE thing and afraid to start with the simplest of projects but I just should code and build myself one step at a time. I can't be good in a single day. Persistence is the key to winning, the sky is the limit to anyone's potential.
Just wanted to get this out
