Details: Kuki militants attempted incursion into Meitei-dominated road/area at Tampak; failed to reach Pandam site and retreated. Meitei villagers mobilised; site now secured/no active clash reported. Status: Calm restored; ongoing ethnic sensitivities.

2. Narcotics Seizure Loc: Lakhimi Nagar, Guwahati (Dispur PS jurisdiction)

Details: Joint EGPD/SOG team intercepted Swift car (reg ML04C7190); apprehended Saju Rahman Laskar (30). Material: 36 soap boxes containing 421g heroin. Status: Custody/interrogation ongoing.

3. Espionage Arrests / Assam & Arunachal Pradesh Loc: Tezpur (Assam); West Siang & Changlang dists (Arunachal Pradesh)

Details: Retired IAF JWO Kulendra Sarma arrested (Tezpur) for alleged links to Pakistani handlers; shared sensitive info. Hilal Ahmed (26, J&K origin) arrested in West Siang. Ghulam Mohammad Mir (J&K origin) arrested in Changlang. Part of network using Telegram for transmitting Army movements/camp locations to Pakistan. 5. Gold Smuggling Seizure / West Bengal Loc: India-Bangladesh border (Siliguri Sector, North Bengal Frontier)

Details: BSF op seized gold from smuggling attempt. Material: 08 gold biscuits (928g; value ~₹1.20 Cr). Status: Contraband seized; network disrupted.

On November 28, 2025, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a drone-assisted strike ("Operation Lang Ol") on a

3rd Assam Rifles outpost near Border Pillars 85-86, Yangoupokpi area (Saibol-Maringthel villages, Tengnoupal district, Manipur), along the Indo-Myanmar border.

Attack involved reconnaissance drones for targeting, followed by precision drops of

improvised explosives (MG-2 HE grenades) and suppressive ground fire from a 50-man PLA team operating from Myanmar camps;

pre-dawn timing exploited limited visibility.

Four Assam Rifles personnel injured (no fatalities);

partial damage to outpost structures and vehicles, with rapid insurgent withdrawal into Myanmar territory.

September 19, 2025 incident —

An ambush on a 33 Assam Rifles convoy vehicle at Nambol Sabal Leikai (Bishnupur district, Imphal valley, along NH-150/Tiddim Road).

Casualties:

2 AR personnel killed, 5 injured.

Suspected/confirmed perpetrator:

PLA cadres (several arrested afterward; weapons recovered). This was a highway ambush on a moving vehicle, not on a fixed post.

A joint EGPD team from Dispur PS & SOG, acting on intel, intercepted a Swift (ML04C7190) at Lakhimi Nagar point and apprehended Saju Rahman Laskar (30). Recovery:

• 07 soap boxes containing Heroin • Weight: 83 grams (net)

Further probe led to, with assistance from Hatigaon PS, a search was conducted at Bahini Hotel, Radhachura Path, Bhetapara. Recovery from hotel room:

• 29 soap boxes containing Heroin • Weight: 338 grams (without box) • One female associate detained: Tina Begum Laskar (19)

Total Recovery:

• 36 soap boxes | 421 grams (without box)

Legal action initiated.

The Kuki militants came out and tried to enter the road/area at Tampak, but they retreated after failing to reach the Pandam site; the villagers came out to the Meitei road/area and the site is now secured/safe.

In this series of counter-intelligence operations over the past 24 hours, Along with him, Arunachal Pradesh Police on Saturday arrested two more suspected spies,

identified as Hilal Ahmed (26) from West Siang district

and

Ghulam Mohammad Mir from Changlang district.

Both are natives of Jammu and Kashmir and are believed to be part of a network linked to Pakistani handlers. According to police, the two suspects allegedly shared sensitive information through a Telegram channel connected to handlers across the border. An Arunachal Pradesh Police official said the accused

passed on details related to Army movements, locations of defence camps and other critical security-related information.

Assam Police arrested a retired Indian Air Force officer identified as Kulendra Sarma, a resident of the Patia locality in Tezpur on charges of alleged links with a Pakistani espionage network on Friday night.

He was allegedly in touch with and supplying sensitive information to individuals linked to a Pakistani spying agency.

Sarma was posted as a Junior Warrant Officer at the Air Force Station in Tezpur, where key air assets, including a Sukhoi 30 squadron, are in place. He had retired in 2002. He then worked at the Tezpur University briefly.
